Scope1.1 This specification covers coextruded composite pipe,produced by a coextrusion die system, in which the concentriclayers are fo

Whencoextruded composite pipe is produced with three layers, themiddle layer is permitted to be solid or thermally foamed.1.1.2 The function

Ordering Information5.1 Orders for coextruded composite pipe produced incompliance with this specification shall
40、include the following:5.2 ASTM designation (F 1488) and year of issue,5.3 Series size,5.4 Footage of each size, and5.5 Materials.6. Material6.1 Basic MaterialsThe outer layer shall be made ofvirgin material that contains pigments or screening agents toprovide protection against UV radiation. The mat
41、erial shallconform to the requirements prescribed in the material speci-fication.6.2 ABS Material SpecificationThe ABS shall be virginplastic ABS material conforming to the requirements of Speci-fication D 3965 and shall meet all of the requirements for CellClass 4-2-2-2-2.6.2.1 The color and form o
42、f the material shall be byagreement between the purchaser and the supplier.6.3 PVC Material SpecificationThe PVC shall be virginplastic material conforming to the requirements of Specifica-tion D 4396 and shall meet all of the requirements for CellClass 1-1-4-3-2.6.3.1 The color and form of the mate
43、rial shall be byagreement between the purchaser and the supplier in accor-dance with Specification D 4396.6.3.2 Individual cell class values are permitted to be greaterthan those listed.6.4 CPVC Material SpecificationThe CPVC shall bevirgin plastic material conforming to the requirements ofSpecifica

45、 Rework MaterialA blend of clean rework materialgenerated from the manufacturers own pipe production maybe used by the same manufacturer, provided the pipe producedmeets all of the requirements of this specification.6.5.1 Rework material is excluded from standard definitionsof recycled materials in
46、accordance with Guide D 5033.6.5.2 Rework material generated from composite pipe shallnot be used in the outer layer.6.5.3 Rework material generated from composite pipe witha thermally foamed layer shall not be used in the inner or outerlayer.7. Performance Requirements7.1 Pipe StiffnessThe minimum
47、pipe stiffness at 5 %deflection when measured in accordance with Test MethodD 2412, shall equal or exceed the value in Table 1, Table 2,Table 3 or Table 4, as applicable. The rate of crosshead motionshall be 0.20 to 0.25 in./min. (5.1 to 6.3 mm/min). Threespecimens shall be tested. If all three meet
48、 this requirement, thesample meets this requirement. If one or two fail, additionaltesting shall be conducted in accordance with 7.1.1. If all threefail, the sample does not meet the requirement.7.1.1 Pipe Stiffness and Lower Confidence LimitIn theevent that one or two of the specimens tested in 7.1
49、 fail to meetthe minimum requirement, the average pipe stiffness of elevenspecimens shall meet or exceed the minimum requirementgiven in Table 1, Table 2, Table 3,orTable 4 as applicable. The99 % lower confidence limit (LCL) shall be within 15 % of theaverage value. The LCL shall be calculated using the Stu-dents“ t” distribution, with N-1 degrees of freedom, where Nis the number of specimens (11).
