Asuperscript epsilon () indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.INTRODUCTIONThis specification identifies the headforms used for testing protective headgear in individual ASTMInternational test method

3、s and performance standards (standard specifications). This specification wasclosely based on the ISO DIS 6220 that is no longer available (having been replaced by EN 960). Itis not possible forASTM International protective headgear standards to reference EN 960 because thisstandard makes no provisi

15、adform sizes: A, E, J, M, and O. The size codes used forheadforms relate to the nominal inside circumference ofhelmets (see Table 1). The nominal inside circumferencevalues refer to the internal circumference of the helmetmeasured at a datum level 12.7 mm above the reference plane.5. Dimensions5.1 D

16、atum LevelsAll datum levels are quoted relative tothe reference plane (“0” level) and are given in mm.5.2 DimensionsThe external dimensions that the head-forms must conform to are identified in Annex A1 and AnnexA2. The headforms shall be symmetrical about the midsagittalplane. Internal geometry may

The resultingheadform must still comply with the other requirements of thisspecification.5.3 TolerancesThe tolerance on all linear dimensions is60.25 mm.6. The mass of the impact headform may be adjusted toaccommodate the specific test method requirements.6.5 Center of GravityThe center of gravity of the impactheadform shall lie at a point on the central vertical axis, 12.7mm above the reference plane.6.6 Product MarkingAll impact headforms shall
