Scope1.1 This specification covers needl

3、e roller bearing assem-blies. These assemblies have thick outer rings, cages, rollers,and inner rings. The assemblies consist of a MS51961 thickouter race needle roller bearing as specified in SpecificationF2246 and a corresponding MS51962 inner ring as specified inSpecification F24311.2 The bearing

4、s being specified are intended to be used onunhardened shafts. MS51961 bearings without inner rings, asspecified in Specification F2246, may be used for used directlyon hardened shafts (HRC5865; see Test Methods E18).1.3 Bearings designed to this specification are intended foruse in applications req

5、uiring high radial load with minimalangular shaft misalignment.1.4 This specification contains many of the requirements ofMS500072, which was originally developed by the Departmentof Defense and maintained by the Defense Supply Center inRichmond. Other Requirements6.1 Heat Treatment:6.1.1 BearingHeat treatment for the bearing componentsis specified in Specification F2246.6.1.2 Inner RingsHeat treatment for the inner ring isspecified in Specification F2431.6.2 Protective Coating:6.2.1 Un

22、less specified otherwise, bearing assemblies shallbe furnished without plating.6.2.2 Manufacturer shall coat bearing assemblies with rustpreventive film.6.3 LubricationUnless specified otherwise, bearing as-semblies shall be furnished without lubrication.7. Dimensions and Permissible Variations7.1 B

23、earing assemblies shall be made up in mating sets asspecified in Table 1.7.2 Bearing assemblies are intended to be installed on shaftswhere maximum taper does not exceed 0.0005 in./in. (0.0005mm/mm) of bearing width.7.3 The dimensions given in Table 1 are for engineeringreference only.7.3.1 Actual s

24、izes and tolerances for the MS51961 bearingsmay be found in Specification F2246.7.3.2 Actual sizes and tolerances for the MS51962 innerrings may be found in Specification F2431.7.4 Load ratings and limiting speeds for the MS51961bearings may be found in Specification F2246.8. Workmanship, Finish, an

25、d Appearance8.1 Surface finish requirements for the MS51961 bearingsmay be found in Specification F2246.8.2 Surface finish requirements for the MS51962 inner ringsmay be found in Specification F2431.9. Inspection9.1 Inspection of the product shall be agreed upon betweenthe purchaser and the supplier

26、 as part of the purchase contract.10. Rejection and Rehearing10.1 Products that fail to conform to the requirements of thisspecification may be rejected. Rejection should be reported tothe producer or supplier promptly and in writing. In case ofdissatisfaction with the results of the test, the produ

Certification11.1 When specified in the purchase order or contract, thepurchaser shall be furnished certification that samples repre-senting each lot have been either tested or inspected as

28、 directedin this specification and the requirements have been met. Whenspecified in the purchase order or contract, a report of the testresults shall be furnished.12. Product Marking12.1 Marking shall consist of the part number and themanufacturers identification in accordance with MIL-STD-130.12.1.

29、1 The part number shall consist of the MS500072designation plus the dash number (see Table 1), for example,MS500072-6.12.1.2 Alternative marking, in lieu of marking the bearingassembly:12.1.2.1 The bearing outer ring may be marked with theMS51961 designation plus the appropriate dash number. Forexam

30、ple, in a MS500072-6 assembly the outer ring may bemarked MS51961-8.12.1.2.2 The inner ring may be marked with the MS51962designation plus the appropriate dash number. For example, ina MS500072-6 assembly the inner ring may be markedMS51962-6.13. Packaging13.1 Unless otherwise specified in the contr

31、act or purchaseorder, military procurements shall be packaged and preservedin accordance with MIL-DTL-197.
