3、rements and test methodsfor materials for a semi-structural polyethylene (PE) encapsu-lated cement mortar formed-in-place liner system (FIPLS)intended for the rehabilitation of water pipelines of nominalsize 4 in. to 12 in. This renewal process involves installing acollapsed PE liner, folded at the

4、time of insertion, into anexisting pipeline, expanding the PE liner, and then pumpingcement mortar into the annulus between the liner and the main.1.2 The liner and cement mortar are progressively roundedby means of an air pressure propelled pig and expanded againstthe interior surface of the origin

5、al host pipe.After rounding, theline is maintained under pressure until the cement mortar curesand the liner is completely self supporting.1.3 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regardedas standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematicalconversions to SI units that are provide

Terminology3.1 Unless otherwise indicated, definitions are in accor-dance with terminology F 412, and abbreviations are in accor-dance with Terminology D 1600. The abbreviation of polyeth-ylene is PE.3.2 Definitions of Terms Specific t

16、and gaps and seal leaking joints in the host pipe andhaving sufficient inherent stiffness to be self supporting withoutdependence on adhesion to the pipe wall.3.3.1 DiscussionAppendix A of AWWA Manual M28 “Structural Lining Design Issues,” contains a more detaileddiscussion of structural classificat

17、ion of lining techniques. Thefollowing is taken from Manual M28: “Class II and Class IIILinings are both interactive and semi-structural systems. Sincethe stiffness of such a lining is less than that of the host pipe,all internal pressure loads are transferred to the host pipeleading to their classi

18、fication as interactive. Such a lining isrequired only to independently sustain internal pressure loadsat discontinuities in the host pipe, such as corrosion holes orjoint gaps, or if the host pipe is subject to structural failure.”4. Materials4.1 Basic Materials:4.1.1 PE MaterialsThe liner and the

19、hooks shall be madefrom PE material meeting the minimum physical properties aslisted in Table 1.4.1.2 The cement mortar is used to fill the ring cavitybetween the polyethylene liner and the host pipe. The cementmortar shall have the minimum physical properties as in Table2.5. Sampling5.1 Cement mort

20、ar:5.1.1 Samples will be taken of the cement mortar materialand tested throughout the installation process to confirm itscompliance to the properties listed in Table 2.6. Requirements6.1 The cement mortar component of the formed-in-placeliner system (FIPLS) shall have a 28 d compressive strength of7

21、 000 psi (48.2 MPa) as tested by Test Method C 109/C 109M.6.2 WorkmanshipThe PE liner shall be essentially uni-form in color and opacity. There shall be no evidence of splits,cracks, crazing, or breaks.7. Inspection7.1 Inspection of the materials shall be made as agreed uponby the purchaser and the

22、seller as part of the purchaseagreement.8. Rejection and Rehearing8.1 If the results of any test do not meet the requirements ofthis specification, these test(s) may be conducted again inaccordance with an agreement between the purchaser and theseller. There shall be no agreement to lower the minimu

23、mrequirement of the specification by such means as omittingtests that are a part of the specification, submitting or modify-ing a test method, or by changing the specification limits. Inretesting, the product requirements of this specification shall bemet and the test methods designated in the speci

24、fication shallbe followed. If, upon retest, failure occurs, the quantity ofproduct represented by the testing does not meet the require-ments of this specification.9. Quality Assurance9.1 When the product is marked with this designation,ASTM F 2718, the manufacturer affirms that the product wasmanuf

25、actured, inspected, sampled and tested in accordancewith this specification and has been found to meet therequirements of this specification.10. Certification10.1 When specified in the purchase order or contract, themanufacturers certification shall be furnished to the purchaserthat the liner was ma

26、nufactured, sampled, tested and inspectedin accordance with this specification, and has been found tomeet the requirements. If specified, a report of the test resultsshall be furnished.11. Product Marking11.1 Markings shall be applied to each package of PE linerin such a manner that they remain legi

27、ble during normalhandling, shipment, storage and installation.11.1.1 The letters ASTM followed by the designation num-ber of this standard.11.1.2 The liner manufacturers name or trademark andproduction code to include location, date of manufacture, andlot number.11.2 The legend “PE/Cement Mortar For
