32、llation: Polyethylene pipe shall be cut square, using a cutter designed for plastic pipe. Except where joined by heat fusion, pipe ends shall be chamfered to remove sharp edges. Kinked pipe shall not be used. The minimum pipe bending radius shall not be less than 30 pipe diameters, or the minimum co
33、il radius, whichever is greater. Piping shall not be bent beyond straightening of the curvature of the coil. Bends shall not be permitted within i0 pipe diameters of any fitting or valve. Stiffener inserts used with compression-type couplings and fittings shall not extend beyond the clamp or nut of
34、the coupling or fitting. PR-203.12 PVC plastic joints: Joints between PVC plastic pipe or fittings shall be in accordance with Sections PR-203.12.1 and PR-203.12.2. PR-203.12.1 Mechanical joints: Mechanical joints on water pipe shall be made with an elastomeric seal conforming to ASTM D3139 listed i
35、n Chapter 8. Mechanical joints shall only be installed in underground systems, unless otherwise approved. Joints shall be installed in accordance with the manufacturers instructions. PR-203.1 2.2 Solvent cementing: Joint surfaces shall be clean and free of moisture. A purple primer that conforms to
36、ASTM F656 listed in Chapter 8 shall be applied. Solvent cement not purple in color and conforming to ASTM D2564, CSA CAN/CSA-B 137.3, CSA CAN/CSA-B 18 1.2 or CSA CAN/CSA-B 182.1 listed in Chapter 8 shall be applied to all joint surfaces. The joint shall be made while the cement is wet, and in accord

PR-203.13.1 Copper or copper alloy tubing to galvanized steel pipe: Joints between copper or copper alloy tubing and galvanized steel pipe shall be made by the use of a brass converter fitting or
39、dielectric fitting. The copper tubing shall be soldered to the fitting in an approved manner, and the fitting shall be screwed to the threaded pipe.
