7、Products Standards Committee. It is one of a series of new Parts intended to cover bricks for a wide range of specific applications. It includes sizes that are also included in BS3056-1 as well as more specialized shapes, thus providing a complete list for the construction of ladles for the steel in

10、99 1 1 Scope This Part of BS3056 specifies the sizes of the following shapes of refractory bricks used in the construction of ladles for the steel industry, excluding torpedo ladles: a) squares; b) splits; c) tile; d) straights; e) side arch bricks; f) end arch bricks; g) circle bricks; h) semi univ
11、ersal ladle bricks. NOTE 1The tolerances on the sizes are not specified in this Part, and may be the subject of agreement between manufacturer and purchaser. NOTE 2The titles of the publications referred to in this Part of BS3056 are listed on the inside back cover. 2 Nomenclature The names given to
12、 the various shapes of brick are as given in BS3446, with the exceptions of straights (see Table 4) and semi-universal ladle bricks (seeTable 9). NOTEBS3446 is being revised and the new edition will include all the nomenclature given here. 3 Sizes The sizes of refractory bricks for use in ladles sha
13、ll be as given in Table 1 to Table 9. 4 Designations and statement of dimensions 4.1 The designations of the sizes, where appropriate, shall be as given in Table 1 to Table 9. NOTEThe designations in Table 1, Table 2, Table 3, Table 5 and Table 7 have been retained from the previous edition of BS305
14、6 for reference purposes. They are unsuitable for the more complicated sizes, and it it envisaged that they will be phased out or modified in any future revision. They should not be used for sole reference unless it is known that the recipients of the communication are conversant with them. It is re
15、commended that if there is any doubt whether the designations will be understood, the dimensions should be stated, either in conjunction with or instead of the appropriate size designations. 4.2 The dimensions of a brick, where stated, shall be given in the order given in Table 1 to Table 9.
