18、 05-1999 3 1 Scope This standard specifies a method of assessing the ability of elements of connection to withstand axial loads without mechanical or electrical damage. The receptacle shall be mounted on a rigid support (see Figure 1). The pl
23、ug shall be fitted with a specified accessory or adaptor. A suitable system shall be designed for application of the load to cylindrical or rectangular connectors. In no case shall the load be applied to the cable. 3.2 Unless specified in the technical specification, the following details shall be s
24、tated: type of plug accessory or adaptor; value of load; direction of load application (tensile and/or compression); final measurements (if applicable). 4 Method 4.1 Procedure The load shall be applied perpendicularly to the mounting plate. It shall be increased at a rate not exceeding 45N/s until t
25、he specified value is reached, then maintained for1min. Measurements according to EN2591-204 (MethodB) shall be carried out throughout the test. If specified, measurements according to EN2591-205 shall be carried out throughout the test. No discontinuity greater than14s shall be observed. 4.2 Final
