Incertainpolymersmoistureleadstohydrolysisthroughoutthethicknessofthefibre (internalhydrolysis)buttherateofdegradationissuchthatovershortperiodsitisonly measurableatelevatedtemperatures,e.g.byimmersioninhotwater. 17、ncetoCRISO13434. 1 Scope ThisEuropeanStandardspecifiesascreeningtestmethodfordeterminingtheresistanceof geotextilesandgeotextilerelatedproductstohydrolysisbyexposingtestspecimensto wateratelevatedtemperatures,followedbyanevaluationofthechangesinproperties resultingfromsuchexposure.Itisintendedasamea
18、nsofestablishingaminimum acceptablelevelofdurability. Thetestisapplicabletoanygeotextileandgeotextilerelatedproductsusceptibleto hydrolysis,inparticularpolyesterandpolyamidebasedmaterials,andinadditiontothe yarnsfromwhichthesegeotextilesaremade.Reinforcingmaterialsshallbetestedwithout thecoatingandm
19、anufacturersshallensurethatthedegradationofthecoatingwillnot attackorhaveanynegativeinfluenceonthedegradationoftheyarns.
