36、r shall lie flat or have no more than a slight curl that can be overcome under normal commercial O operating conditions and that does not affect its end use. Surface Condition - The paper surface shall be free from blemishes, dust, dirt, lint and other particles that may adversely affect its convers
37、ion or end use. Splitting - The paper shall show no splitting (delamination) under conditions of repeated handling. Trim - The paper shall be trimmed on four sides with clean, smooth edges and shall be evenly jogged. Edges shall be straight and square. If a specific trimming method is required, it s
38、hall be specified (par. 8.1). Successive sheets within any rotary (precision) trimmed stack of paper shall not vary more than 0.3 cm in their relative jogged position. Formation - The formation of the paper shall be close and even. Stock - The paper stock shall normally be free from more than trace
39、amounts (less than 1%) of unbleached or mechanical pulps except that no limitation is imposed on the amount of deinked or non-deinked bleached secondary (recycled) fibre, nor on the amount of high-yield pulps, present in the stock. Fluorescent (optical) brighteners may be present. Moisture Content -
40、 This paper may be used either in air-conditioned pressrooms or in pressrooms lacking relative humidity and temperature controls. Unless otherwise specified (par. 8.1), the paper at time of delivery shall be in equilibrium with a relative humidity of 45 I 5% and a temperature of 23 f 0.5“C for use i
41、n air-conditioned pressrooms. If specified (par. 8. I) “for use in non-air-conditioned pressrooms“, the paper at time of delivery shall be in suitable equilibrium with seasonally prevailing relative humidity. DETAILED REQUIREMENTS undersize and not more than 0.2 cm oversize in either length or width
42、. Successive sheets within any package shal m Physical Dimensions - The paper shall be supplied in the sheet sizes specified (par. 8.1). The paper shall not not differ by more than 0.04 cm in either direction. Sheets shall be square on all four sides, within a tolerance of 0.1 cm in each 76 cm as de
43、termined on a squeng table. The edge bow in individual sheets shall not be more than 0.04 cm in each 76 cm as determined by turning a sheet over, butting an edge against the corresponding edge of the sheet below, measuring the gap between them and taking one half of this measurement. Grammage - The
44、paper shall be supplied in the grammage listed in Table 1, as specified (par. 8.1) within a tolerance of 35%. Thickness - The paper shall conform to the average thickness listed in Table 1, with a tolerance of f13 pm. The difference in average thickness between sheets shall not exceed 5 pm. individu
45、al sheets shall be uniform in thickness. The difference between the highest and lowest thickness across each sheet shall not exceed 10 pm. Grain Direction - The grain direction, when determined in accordance with Technical Section, CPPA standard D.l, shall be as specified (par. 8.1). Colour - Unless
46、 otherwise specified (par. 8.1) the paper shall be bright white. The colour and brightness of the paper shall visually match in accordance with commercial colour matching practice, the reference sample supplied. Hydrogen Ion Concentration (pH) - The pH value of the cold extract of the paper shall no
47、t be less than 4.8 when determined in accordance with Technical Section. CPPA standard G.25P. Physical and Optical Properties - Physical and optical properties shall be in accordance with the requirements of Table 1. Unless otherwise specified (par. 8.1). packaging. labelling and marking shall be in

INSPECTION Sampling - Sampling for inspection and testing shall be left to the discretion of the inspection authority, unless a specific sampling plan is specified (par. 8.1). Testing Stiffness - Perform the tests on a Taber or Gurley Tester (Note 1). Cut sample
