4、standard specifies the chemical composition of semi-finished products made from titanium alloys. See DIN 1737 Part 1 for filler metals for welding titanium alloys. 2 Designation Titanium alloys covered in this standard shall be designated using the material designations or material numbers listed in

5、 tables 1 and 2. Example : Titanium alloy identified by symbol (material designation) TiAlGV4 or material number 3.71 65 shall be designated: Alloy DIN 17851 -TiAlV4 or Alloy DIN 17851 -3.7165 3 Chemical composition 3.1 Ladle analysis The chemical composition of low alloytitanium alloys as determine

6、d by ladle analysis shall be as given in table 1 and that of high alloy titanium alloys, as given in table 2. Table 1. For specification

11、of the properties of semi-finished products, see the standards referred to in the respective column head. 5 Chemical analysis The elements listed in tables 1 and 2 shall be determined quantitatively using recognized methods.To permit comparison of the results with the limiting values given in this s

12、tandard,each value obtained shall be given to the same decimal place as that of the limiting value, using the rounding rules described in DIN 1333 Part 2. Table 3. Amendments The following amendments have been made to the December 1973 edition. a) A distinction has been made between low alloy and high alloy grades. b) Ten further wrought titanium alloys have been included. c) Amounts bywhich the chemical comp

20、osition as determined by product analysis may deviate from the limitingvalues spec- ified for the ladle analysis have been included for the first time. d) The text has been editorially revised. DIN 17851 Page 5 Explanatory notes The series of standards on titanium and titanium alloys has been restru

21、ctured.The chemical composition of these materials is now dealt with in DIN 17850 and DIN 17851, the technical delivery conditions for semi-finished products such as tube,plate, sheet and strip being given in DIN 17860 to DIN 17863 and, DIN 17866. DIN 17865 now covers titanium and titanium alloy cas

22、tings and DIN 17864, forgings. It has been agreed to make the following amendments to DIN 17850 and DIN 17851. a) DIN 17850 covers unalloyed titanium only.Symbols have been introduced to identify the titanium grade,but these do not, unlike the designation of aluminium grades, indicate the level of p

23、urity. b) The scope of DIN 17851 has been extended to include ten further al1oys.a distinction being made between low alloy and high alloy grades. c) In both standards, separate specifications have been given for the chemical composition as determined by ladle and by product analysis.
