It is recommended that the use of carbon steel material with cadmium plating is used only when the other materials and plating finishes specified cannot meet performance requirements. (See table ll, NASM35206 and MIL-DTL-13791) It should be a pr
13、oper protected coating type, and there are many alternative materials, which are Zinc, Zinc/Nickel, Zinc/Cobalt, Tin/Zinc, for cadmium plating applications. Proper protected coating type plating shall be in accordance with SAE-AMS-C-81562, type II, class 3 or SAE-AMS-QQ-P-416, type II class 2. Fluid
14、 passages, other openings and internal threads shall not be subject to the plating thickness requirement and may have bare areas provided they are protected with a light film of oil.
