When specified (see 6.21, a sample shall be subjected to first article inspection (see 6.3), in accordance with 4.3. * 3.3 Material. Materials shall be as specified herein. It

Bra
24、ss castings shall conform to type I, condition as cast, alloy A3 of QQ-C-390. 3.2.2 Wire, brass. Brass wire shall conform to alloy 270, quarter hard of QQ-W-321, or alloy 462, or 464, half-hard, or light annealed of QQ-B-637. 3.2.3 Castings, malleable iron. Malleable iron castings shall conform to g
25、rade 32510 or 35018 of ASTM A 47. 3.2.4 Wire, steel. Steel wire shall conform to AIS1 numbers 1006, 1008, 1010, or 1015, finish 1, annealed of QQ-W-461. 3.2.5 Enamel. The enamel shall conform to type II, of TT-E-529. The color shall be semi-gloss black, No. 27038 of FED-STD-595. 3.3 Construction. Th
26、e construction and forming of loops shall conform to the style and requirements as shown on Drawings 4-1-90 and 4-1-437. 3.3.1 Castings. Brass and malleable iron castings shall have no porosity, blowholes, blemishes, slag or other casting imperfections. All sharp edges and . burrs shall be removed a
27、nd finished smooth. * 3.3.2 Type I loops. Type I loops when fabricated of brass wire, and formed to shape, shall when required be joined by butt resistance welding or brazing, type I-V, grade B conforming to MIL-B-7883. The butt resistance welding or brazed joints shall be sound and smooth. Styles A
28、, H, and S shall be cast of brass as specified in 3.2.1. Styles B, C, D, E, F, G, JJ, KK, and LL shall be formed of brass wire as specified in 3.2.2. 3.3.3 Type II loops. Type II loops, styles A, H, Q, and HH shall be cast of malleable iron as specified in 3.2.3. 3.3.4 Type III loops. Type III loops
29、, styles 8, C, D, E, F, G, J, K, L, M, N, P, Q, R, T, W, Y, Z, AA, BB, CC, DD, EE, FF, GG, and MM shall be formed of steel wire as specified in 3.2.4. The ends of the wire, after being formed to shape, shall be joined by welding or brazing at the option of the contractor. The welding or brazing shal
30、l be sound and smooth with the welding conforming to good commercial practices and brazing as specified in 3.3.2. . 3.4 Finish. Prior to finish application, all burrs, flashing, scale, sharp edges, and welding flux shall be removed. Type I loops shall be cleaned as specified in ASTM B 281 and ASTM B
31、 322. Type II and III loops shall be cleaned in accordance with method I, II, or V of TT-C-490. 3.4.1 Type I loop. After fabrication and cleaning, the type I loops shall be given a black chemical finish, 0.00005 to 0.0002 inch thick, conforming to MIL-F-495. The color shall be semi-gloss black, No.

The finish for type II and III loops shall consist of phosphate treated zinc coating, conforming to type III, SC3 of ASTM B
33、633, followed by baked enameling as specified in 3.2.5. The enamel shall dry to a smooth and uniform film, free from runs, wrinkles, orange peel or areas of no film, * 3.5 Workmanship, The finished loops shall be cleaned in accordance with good commercial practice and be free of sharp edges, burrs,
34、flashing, cracks, bends, flux or incomplete fusion of material. The loops shall conform to the quality of product established by this specification and the occurrence of defects shall not exceed the applicable acceptable quality levels. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS * 4.1 Responsibility for inspec
35、tion. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements (examinations and tests) as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any ot
36、her facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in this specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to ensure supplies and se
37、rvices conform to prescribed requirements. * 4.1.1 Responsibility for compliance. All items shall meet all requirements of sections 3 and 5. The inspection set forth in this specification shall become a part of the contractors overall inspection system or quality program. The absence of any inspecti
38、on requirements in the specification shall not relieve the contractor of the responsibility of ensuring that all products or supplies submitted to the Government for acceptance comply with all requirements of the contract, Sampling inspection, as part of manufacturing operations, is an acceptable pr
39、actice to ascertain conformance to requirements, however, this does not authorize submission of known defective material, either indicated or actual, nor does it commit the Government to accept defective material. * 4.1.2 Responsibility for dimensional requirements. Unless otherwise specified in the
40、 contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for ensuring that all specified dimensions have been met. When dimensions cannot be examined on the end item, inspection shall be made at any point, or at all points in the manufacturing process necessary to assure compliance with all dimens
41、ional requirements. 4.2 Classification of inspections. The inspection requirements specified herein are classified as follows: a. b, First article inspection (see 4.3). 42、ense from IHS-,-,-MIL-L-110 75G * 4.3 First article inspection. When a first article inspection is required (see 3.1 and 6.21, it shall be examined for the defects specified in 4.4.3 and 4.4.4. The presence of any defect shall be cause for rejection of the first article. 4.4 Quality conformance insp
43、ection. Unless otherwise specified, sampling for inspection shall be performed in accordance with MIL-STD-105. 4.4.1 Component and material inspection. In accordance with 4.1, components and materials shall be inspected in accordance with all the requirements of referenced documents unless otherwise
44、 excluded, amended, modified, or qualified in this specification or applicable purchase document. * 4.4.2 In-process inspection. Inspection of the type II and III loops shall be made to ascertain that the loops have been given a phosphate treated zinc coating conforming to ASTM B 633 as specified in
45、 3.4.2. Whenever nonconformance is noted, correction shall be made to the items affected and to the operation. Items which cannot be corrected shall be removed from production. 4.4.3 End item visual examination. The end items shall be examined for the defects listed in table I. The lot size shall be
46、 expressed in units of loops. The sample unit shall be one loop. The inspection level shall be II and the acceptable quality level (AQL), expressed in terms of defects per hundred units, shall be 2.5 for major defects and 10.0 for total (major and minor combined) defects.
