This specification replaces ESB-M2P6-B. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for a fin
3、ish specified where adequate corrosion protection is required and appearance is not a factor. It is specified on underneath areas of fenders, floor pan, rear wheelhouse, engine compartment side of body dash panel and front structure components of unitized vehicles. These areas are normally painted c
4、oncurrently to meet ESB-M2P4. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.1 SUBSTRATE Auto body steel 3.2 METAL PREPARATION Zinc Phosphate coat
5、ing per ESB-M3P1. Iron Phosphate, ESB-M3P2 is approved only when the underbody is painted concurrently with ESB-M2P33 Alternate Exterior Specification for Commercial Vehicles. 3.3 DRY FILM THICKNESS, min (FLTM BI 117-01) 3.3.1 Spray Primer Only Facilities 18 m 3.3.2 Conventional Electrocoat Primer 1
6、8 m Facilities 3.3.3 High Build Electrocoat Primer 30 m Facilities Production spray primer not required for wheel openings in cathodic electrocoat plants.
