SCOPE This specification defines the performance requirements for paint systems where resistance to corrosion, fuel, hot oil and coolant is required. 2. APPLICATION T
3、his specification was released originally to define paint performance requirements for electrocoated engine accessories, oil pans as well as sheet metal parts within the engine compartment. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must
4、conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.3 SYSTEM COMPONENTS 3.3.1 Substrate Cold rolled steel, pre-coated, electroplated zinc or zinc alloy coated steel as specified on Engineering Drawing. 3.3.2 Pretreatment The surface to be coated must be free fr
5、om oil, rust, dirt, fingerprints, moisture, and other foreign materials. All substrates shall be zinc phosphated and conform to the requirements of WSK-M3P1-C. 3.3.3 Cathodic Electrocoat Suitable to meet the requirements of this specification or as specified on Engineering Drawing. 3.3.4 Ageing Test
6、 panels or test specimens prepared for investigations according to this specification must be aged for at least 2 hours at 23 +/- 2 C or 16 hours at 45 +/- 1 C prior to testing. 3.4 FILM PROPERTIES 3.4.1 Color Black or as specified on (FLTM BI 109-01) Engineering Drawing ENGINEERING MATERIAL SPECIFI

9、 WATER IMMERSION TEST 240 h (FLTM BI 104-01) No loss of adhesion, no loss of gloss and no blistering accepted. 3.7 RESISTANCE TO SCAB CORROSION (FLTM BI 123-01, 10 Cycles) No blistering, rusting or loss of adhesion more than 3 mm from the scribe line. 3.8 HEAT RESISTANCE 24 h at 180 +/- 3 C No loss
10、of adhesion per 3.4.4. No flaking, no cracking and no change of color or gloss accepted. 3.9 RESISTANCE AGAINST HOT OIL (8 h immersion at 180 +/- 2 C) The test panel shall be immersed into current production engine oil as required. Evaluate one hour after test end. No blistering, no loss of adhesion
11、 and not more than slight dulling and softening. 3.10 SOLVENT RESISTANCE (FLTM BI 152-01) No blistering, no loss of adhesion and not more than slight dulling or softening accepted. 3.11 RESISTANCE AGAINST COOLANT (1 h immersion at 70 +/- 2 C) Test panels shall be immersed into a mixture of 50% water and 50% current production coolant. No blistering, no loss of adhesion and not more than slight dulling or softening accepted.
