SCOPE. This Commercia

SALIENT CHAIUCTERISTICS.3.1 Desi. The bevel d plain protractor shall have a rectangular head with graduations and anon-adjustabl

5、-A-3084A3.1.1 Head. The rectangular head shall have a length not be less than 3-1/4 inches or more than3-3/8 inches, and a width not less than 1-7/8 inches or more than 2 inches. The protractor shallhave four finished working edges and the surface shall be flat, parallel, and square within .005inch
6、as determined by means of a precision square and gage blocks. The flatness shall be determined with a test indicator in conjunction with a surface plate. It shall have two scalesaccurately graduated in degrees, reading in both directions from Oto 180 degrees and shall beaccurate Witiln +/- 5 minutes
7、 between any two graduations. In addition, each graduation markingshall be within 15 minutes of its true reading determined by means of either a coordinatemeasuring machine, a sine bar, or angular blocks to ascertain the total angular error. Allinstruments shall be of proven accuracy, as certified b
8、y the National Institute of Standards andTechnology (NIST) and petiormed at a constant temperature of 68 degrees F, +/- 10 degrees F.3.1.2 Blade. The indicating arm of the blade shall have a line graduation for accurate setting andreading of the protractor. The length of the blade from the center of
9、 the stud hole shall not be lessthan 6 inches or more than 6 Xi inches with a width of 5/8 inch and thickness of 1/16 inch. Theworking edges shall be accurately straight within .0005 inch as determined with a test indicatorin conjunction with a surface plate of proven accuracy, as certified by the N
10、ational Institute ofStandards and Technology (NIST) and performed at a constant temperature of 68 degrees F, +/-10 degrees F. The blade shall be mounted to the head in a manner to allow free and accuratepositioning.3.1.3 Thumbnut. A knurled thumbnut or other similar locklng device shall be finished
11、to allowfor adjusting tension and locking the blade at any position.3.2 Identification markirwz. The tool shall be marked with the manufacturers name or identifying asymbol and the state or country of manufacture, unless otherwise specified. All identificationmarkings shall be etched, engraved, mold
12、ed, or indented directly on the items surface in such amanner that it remains clearly legible throughout the life of the item.3.3 Workmanship. Details of workmanship shall be in accordance with the best commercialpractices. Paints, coatings, plating, and finishes shall be smooth, adherent, continuou
13、s and notstained or discolored. External surfaces shall be free of tool and gouge marks, nicks, or othersurface imperfections. The item shall be free from manufacturing workmanship defects (e.g.sharp or rough external edges, comers, or surfaces) and material workmanship defects (e.g. pits,rips, fins
14、, burrs, tears, nodules, cracks, or blisters), which may adversely impact the itemsserviceability, durability, safety, or appearance4. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS.4.1 Recovered materials. The supplier/contractor is encouraged to use materials to the maximumextent practicable, in accordance with paragrap

Products to metric dimensions will be considered on a equal basis withethose manufactured using inch-pound units, prov
16、ided they fhll within the tolerances specified(using conversion tables contained in the latest revision of Federal Standard 376) and all otherrequirements of this document are met. If a product is manufactured to metric dimensions andthose dimensions exceed the tolerances specified in the incldpound
17、 units, a request should bemade to the contracting officer to determine if the product is acceptable.5. PRODUCT CONFORMANCE.5.1 Product conformance. The product provided to the Government shall cotiorm to thecontractually specified required. For product characteristics and requirements the providedp
18、roduct shall conform to the suppliers own drawings, standards, specifications, and qualityassurance practices for the highest quality product commercially offered by the supplier. If thesupplier does not commercially offer the product, the best commercial practices shall apply. TheGovernment reserve
19、s the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery andthereafter as provided for under the provisions of the contract.5.2 Resuonsibilitv for insuectin. Unless otherwise specified, the contractor is responsible for theperformance of all inspection requirements and may use any co
20、mmercial facilities (including thecontractor own facilities) suitable for performance of the inspection requirements, unlessdisapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any inspectiondeemed necessary to assure the item cotiorms to the specified requirements.a71 6. PACK
