Change Notice: Update to MPAPS format. 1.0 SCOPE This method covers a procedure for determining the pH value of mixtures of engine cooling system stopleak compounds in distilled water and ethylene glycol base antifreez
5、e. 2.0 APPARATUS 2.1 Apparatus required in ASTM D1287, Test Method for pH of Engine Coolants and Antirusts. 2.2 Balance with a sensitivity of 0.1 gram. 2.3 Graduated cylinder, 200 milliliters. 3.0 MATERIALS 3.1 Materials required to perform ASTM D1287, Test Method for pH of Engine Coolants and Antir
6、usts. 3.2 Screw-cap wide mouth glass jar, 8-ounce. 3.3 Distilled water. 3.4 Antifreeze mixture consisting of equal parts distilled water and MPAPS B-1, Coolant Concentrate, Ethylene Glycol Base. 4.0 PROCEDURE 4.1 Place 5 + 0.1 gram samples of well mixed stopleak compound into two 8-ounce screw-cap w
7、ide mouth glass jars, and add 200 milliliters of distilled water to one jar and 200 milliliters antifreeze mixture to the other jar. 4.2 Cover the jars and shake the contents until thoroughly dispersed. 4.3 Allow the mixtures to stand for 10 minutes. 4.4 Determine the pH values as directed in sectio
