5、g plate, graphic, and a lens suitable for exterior application. 2.0 SCOPE This specification covers the application and performance requirements of the completed assembly, and general requirements for the individual components. 2.1 Restricted Chemical Substances Effective January 1, 2007, all produc
6、t supplied to the requirements of this specification must comply with the requirements of the MPAPS B-50 specification. 2.2 Description 2.2.1 Type 1 Type 1 is a zinc die cast plate, an aluminum screen-printed graphic, and a poured urethane lens. Note: For existing drawings that specify TMS-7110 or M
7、PAPS D-7110 without referring to Type, Type 1 will be supplied. 2.2.2 Type 2 Type 2 consists of an injection-molded plastic plate with an acrylic second surface printed lens. 2.2.3 Type 3 Type 3 consists of an injection-molded plastic plate with chrome finish and no lens. 2.2.4 Type 4 Type 4 is an i
8、njection-molded plastic plate with painted and/or hot-stamped finish and no lens. 2.2.5 Type 5 Type 5 consists of an injection-molded plastic plate, a metalized layer with a printed PVC layer, and a weather resistant polyurethane coating. 2.2.6 Type 6 Type 6 consists of an injection-molded plastic p

Test for 22 hours. 4.2.5.2 Required: see 4.2 for requirement 4.2.7
17、Adhesion Strength (Applicable if an adhesive is used to bond parts onto the lens) 4.2.7.1 Method A Lap Shear Lab prepared test samples Prepare samples and test as directed in ASTM D1002 to as closely approximate production assembly conditions as possible. Tensile machine jaw separation rate shall be
18、 13 mm (.5 in) per minute. Samples shall be tested at 20C. Observe and report the failure mode and load. 4.2.7.2 Method B Cleavage Finished production parts Pry apart the piece bonded to the acrylic lens at the bond line as directed in ASTM D5041. Observe and report the failure mode. 4.2.7.3 Require
19、d: The bond strength of the adhesive shall be a minimum of 1 MPa (150 psi) as measured in Method A. The failure mode shall be cohesive failure of the adhesive or delamination of the substrate (fiber tear) in both Methods. 4.2.8 Chemical Resistance (subject to further development) 4.2.8.1 Method: Sub
20、merge finished production part for 5 minutes in all chemicals listed in MPAPS DT-12 (Methods A and B). 4.2.8.2 Required: Report results. 5.0 QUALITY All parts supplied to this specification shall be uniform in color and texture and shall match the appearance of approved sample parts and be free from
21、 pinholes, blowholes, bubbles, and mold flash. No change in the formulation shall be made by the supplier without prior approval of the Navistar Materials Engineering department. 6.0 QUALIFICATION Engineering qualification of sources is required in advance of production shipments. Suppliers shall su
22、bmit samples for approval of finish, luster, color and appearance to the Navistar Industrial Design Group. Samples shall be accompanied by test data certifying that all requirements of the specification have been met. Upon approval, styling master samples denoting the minimum level of acceptable app
23、earance quality shall be developed and retained by the supplier and the quality department of each using NAVISTAR facility. 7.0 SOURCE APPROVAL AND QUALITY CONTROL 7.1 Supplier Requirements All suppliers to NAVISTAR are required to be registered to ISO 9001 Quality System Requirements. NAVISTAR will
24、 also accept TS-16949 registration as long as the supplier can also fulfill all AIAG PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) documentation and approval requirements. Suppliers must maintain their certification with an accredited registrar and must furnish copies of registration certificates to their
25、 Corporate Buyer upon request. 7.2 Approval Parts supplied against contracts or purchase orders citing this specification shall be equivalent in all respects to those samples that were approved by the purchaser. In the event that changes in material, properties, processing practices, construction, color, or labeling of the product are required, the supplier shall notify Materials Engineering and Navistar Purchasing and Supplier Development of the proposed change(s). Test data indicating con
28、formance to all requirements of this specification, test samples, and new or amended or updated Material Safety Data Sheet(s) (MSDS), in accordance with CFR Title 29, Part 1910 shall be submitted with the request for change. 7.3 Process Control The supplier shall either perform and report results of
29、 tests on specific lots of parts produced using ISO 9001 or TS-16949 guidelines, or provide statistical evidence of the lot having been produced in a state of statistical control and with a process capable of providing all required properties. The part supplier and the quality control manager of the
30、 using NAVISTAR plant may determine testing and reporting requirements on specific products. 8.0 SHIPPING AND HANDLING Shipping and identification shall be in accordance with NAVISTAR Manufacturing Standard MS-D-13. Parts shall be packaged so as to avoid any damage in shipment detrimental to the app
31、earance of the part. 9.0 DESIGNATION ON DRAWINGS The engineering drawing for the product graphic will cover the details of the graphic, color and other finish requirements for the logo. The assembly drawing shall include the finish requirements (paint or plating) of the mounting plate, and shall ref
