4、. 1.0 APPLICATION This specification covers the requirements for five types of a black, masticated, rubber material rolled or pressed into flat sheets suitable for mud flaps, splash shields, and similar parts. Type I is a material composed of 60% post-industrial recyclate from the tire industry and
5、40% post-consumer tire recyclate. Type IA is made with 2-ply polyester/nylon fabric and is also composed of 60% post-industrial recyclate from the tire industry and 40% post-consumer tire recyclate. Types II and III are materials composed of 90% post-consumer tire recyclate. Type IV is a material co
6、mposed of 90-100% post-industrial recyclate from the tire industry and 0-10% post-consumer tire recyclate. Type V is a thermoplastic elastomeric material that is a blend of recycled rubber and recycled LDPE that can replace Type I in many applications but is stiffer than that material. It can also b
7、e thermo formed. In most cases, these materials may be used interchangeably but engineering should evaluate changes in the materials to ensure that the new one meets the application requirements. 2.0 SCOPE This specification covers the property and performance requirements, dimensional tolerances, s
8、ource approval and quality control, identification and shipping, and designation on drawings. 2.1 Restricted Chemical Substances Effective January 1, 2007, all product supplied to the requirements of this specification must comply with the requirements of the MPAPS B-50 specification. 3.0 REFERENCE

20、VAL AND QUALITY CONTROL 6.1 Supplier Requirements All suppliers to NAVISTAR are required to be registered to ISO 9001 Quality System Requirements. NAVISTAR will also accept TS-16949 registration as long as the supplier can also fulfill all AIAG PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) documentation a
21、nd approval requirements. Suppliers must maintain their certification with an accredited registrar and must furnish copies of registration certificates to the Corporate Buyer upon request. 6.2 Approval Parts supplied against contracts or purchase orders citing this specification shall be equivalent
22、in all respects to those samples which were approved by the purchaser. No changes in formulation or processing practices are permitted without approval. In the event that changes in material, properties, processing practices, construction, color, or labeling of the product are required, the supplier
23、 shall notify Materials Engineering and Purchasing & Supplier Development of the proposed change(s). 25、, Part 1910 shall be submitted with the request for change. 6.3 Process Control The supplier shall either perform and report results of tests on specific lots of parts produced using ISO 9001 or TS-16949 guidelines, or provide statistical evidence of the lot having been produced in a state of statis
