The use of this produc
5、t is restricted by SAE J844 and must have approval of Truck Development and Technology Center Brake Group. 2.0 SCOPE This specification covers the general requirements, property and performance requirements, and the quality control requirements. An approved source list is included. 2.1 Restricted Ch
6、emical Substances Effective January 1, 2007, all product supplied to the requirements of this specification must comply with the requirements of the CEMS B-50 specification. 3.0 REFERENCE DOCUMENTS Unless otherwise specified the latest issue of all referenced standards shall apply. The following spe

8、TMS-9009 4.0 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS The tubing and completed assembly shall meet the provisions outlined in the various requirements of this specification and the requirements of the latest issue of TMS-7006. 4.1 Material The assemblies shall be constructed of reinforced tubing meeting the requirement
9、s of TMS-7006. 4.2 Appearance The tubing assembly shall conform to and be equivalent in surface finish and color to that of the pre-production samples approved by TDTC. Assemblies supplied to this specification shall be smooth and uniform, free from any visible defects, foreign matter, kinks, seams
10、or any other conditions that would impair the performance. AUGUST 2011 Page 2 of 5 4.3 Color The tubing formulation shall be consistent in hue and of uniform saturation so that it matches the appearance of pre-production approved samples and meets the applicable color requirements of the aforementioned standards
12、. Approved color shall be designated on the assembly drawing. 4.4 Fittings Fittings shall be made from brass and spring guards of steel, meeting the dimensional requirements shown on the engineering drawing. Steel shall be plated with zinc plating, Class 8A, CEMS G-20 or painted per TMS 9009, Class
13、IIA. Spring guard free end shall be rounded and relieved to prevent abrasion of nylon tubing. 4.5 Property And Performance Requirements All assemblies furnished to this specification shall meet the provisions and requirements of TMS-7006, and, in addition, the following requirements: 4.5.1 Sag Resis
14、tance 4.5.1.1 Method Extend coiled assembly to the maximum recommended working length (as specified on the part drawing) in a horizontal position by clamping at ends and hold for 16 hours at 24 3C (75 5F). While in the extended position, measure the deflection from a horizontal line at top of the co
15、il at the assembly mid-point. Reduce the extension of the assembly to 50% of the recommended working length and hold. After 30 minutes, repeat the sag measurement. 4.5.1.2 Required Sag from the horizontal shall not exceed 4% of the maximum working length for full extension nor more than 8% of maximu
16、m working length for 50% extension. 4.5.2 Force of Extension 4.5.2.1 Method Extend coiled assembly to the maximum recommended working length at 24 3C (75 5F). Using a spring scale or other suitable measurement device, determine total force of extension. 4.5.2.2 Required Force to extend to maximum wo
17、rking length shall not exceed 66.7 N (15 lbf). 4.5.3 Ovality - Nylon Tubing 4.5.3.1 Method: ASTM D 2122, Section #7, Calculations M in im um O .D.M a xi m um O .D. x 10 0 4.5.3.2 Required: Shall be a minimum of 75% ovality. 4.5.4 Restriction 4.5.4.1 Method: Measure the inside diameter of the metalli
18、c sleeve (sleeve inside tubing). 4.5.4.2 Required: A 12.7 mm (1/2 in) O.D. coiled assembly shall have a minimum sleeve I.D. of 8.0 mm (0.315 in). 4.5.5 Fitting Tensile 4.5.5.1 Method: ASTM D 622 4.5.5.2 Required: Minimum pull-off shall be 1.45 kN (325 lbf) 4.5.6 Spring Guard Tensile 4.5.6.1 Method:
19、ASTM A 318, Section 3, with cross head speed of 2.5 cm (1 in) per minute. AUGUST 2011 Page 3 of 5 4.5.6.2 Required Minimum force to remove spring from fitting shall be 445 N (100 lbf). 4.5.7 Quality Control Requirements The supplier shall perform the following control tests on production parts and on a continuin
21、g basis according to the test frequency stipulated: 4.5.7.1 Leak Test Two assemblies per lot shall show no leakage when tested for five minutes under 1.4 MPa (200 psi) air pressure. Leakage of sample part shall require 100% leak testing of the subject lot. Note: A lot is defined as the product of on
22、e size and/or color assemblies made during one day of production. 5.0 QUALITY Parts and assemblies will meet the cleanliness requirements of TMS-9528. All product produced to this specification will be clean, free of dirt, grease, and contamination. All debris from cutting and processing will be rem
23、oved. Any internal release agents shall be flushed from the inside of the tubing. There shall be no fabric or flash exposed on the ID of the hose. Parts shall be free of voids and/or reinforcement splices. 5.1 KCC Key Control Characteristics Refer to Engineering Design Standard A-16. Unless specific
24、 exception is noted on the engineering drawing or purchase order, the following features/characteristics are identified as features for which management by statistical process control is mandatory for all tube and/or tube assemblies supplied to the requirements of this specification. Ovality Restric
25、tion Length 5.2 Certification Assemblies supplied to this specification shall be certified and records maintained to compliance with SAE J844 and TMS-7006. These records shall be subject to periodic review by International Quality Personnel 5.3 Qualification Material and processes submitted for appr
26、oval to this specification shall include the following: 5.3.1 Report: A detailed and signed test report documenting testing to this specification prepared as per TMS-9543. The report will include actual test data not merely test summaries. 5.3.2 Failure Modes: Test samples or photographs showing fai
27、lure modes for each destructive test as necessary to fully describe those failure modes. Descriptions are adequate if the mode is easily understandable (no jargon) and not unexpected. Unexpected failure modes shall be described or pictured as completely as possible. 5.3.3 Test Procedure: The procedu
28、re used for preparing, curing and assembling materials for test. 5.3.4 Analysis: A detailed analysis of the test results including assumptions made, unexpected results and an explanation of any non-compliant results. PO Box 1109 Fort Wayne, IN 46801 6.0 SOURCE APPROVAL AND QUALITY CONTROL 6.1 Supplier Requirements All suppliers to Navistar Inc. are required to be registered to ISO 9001 Quality System Requirements. Navistar will also acc
31、ept TS-16949 registration as long as the supplier can also fulfill all AIAG PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) documentation and approval requirements. Suppliers must maintain their certification with an accredited registrar and must furnish copies of registration certificates to their Navistar
32、 Corporate Buyer upon request. 6.2 Approval Parts supplied against contracts or purchase orders citing this specification shall be equivalent in all respects to those samples which were approved by the purchaser. No changes in formulation or processing practices are permitted without approval. In th
33、e event that changes in material, properties, processing practices, construction, color, or labeling of the product are required, the supplier shall notify Materials Engineering at TDTC and Purchasing and Logistics of the proposed change(s). Test data indicating conformance to all requirements of th
34、is specification, test samples, and new or amended or updated Material Safety Data Sheet(s) (MSDS), in accordance with CFR Title 29, Part 1910 shall be submitted with the request for change. 6.3 Process Control The supplier shall either perform and report results of tests on specific lots of parts p
35、roduced using ISO 9001 or TS-16949 guidelines, or provide statistical evidence of the lot having been produced in a state of statistical control and with a process capable of providing all required properties. The part supplier and the plant metallurgist and/or the quality control manager of the usi
