T-2 series 314 1, SCOPE - 1.1 . Scope. This specification covers requirements for t

3、he.procurement of aircraft launching bridle and pendant wire rope assemblies of the types and part numbers shown in 1.2. Type IV Sleeve and poured zinc socket pendants Fw-ged eye bridles (reinforced apex) Type v * 1.2 Classification. The bridles and pendants shall be classified as follows: NAEC 6167

In the event of a conflict between the text of this document and the references cited herein, the text of this document takes precedence. Nothing in this document, however, supersedes applicable laws and regulations unless a

17、specific exemption has been obtained. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Oualification. Bridle and pendant assemblies furnished under this specification shall be products which are authorized by the qualifying . activity for listing on the applicable qualified products list at the time of award of contract (see 4.

18、4 and 6.3). 3.2 Materials. Materials shall be as specified on the applicable . drawings. Materials which are not covered by applicable specifications shall be of aircraft qual i ty and sui table for the purpose intended. * 3.3 Desiqn and construction. The design and construction of the assembl ies s

19、hall be in accordance with appl i cable assembly drawings and thi s specification. Whi.le in service these bridles and pendant are used to launch military aircraft and are classified as critical. Their -design shall be made with a minimum margin of safety as they are subject to impact and dynamic lo

20、ads. failure could result in the loss of an airplane, the lives of its crew and ships personnel. Their construction shall be of a uniformly excellent quality since a 3.3.1 Wire rope. Wire rope shall conform to the requirements specified on the applicable drawing. 3.3.2 Terminals. Terminal .shanks sh

22、 R D NOTE 2: Prior approval of NAVAIR (copy to NAEC) shall be obtained for any change in the source, type, grade, commercial designation, or specification of the wire rope during production. After approval, the first five production assemblies manufactured shall be subjected to the destruction test

23、(4.5.8). . . NOTE 3: If any one of the assemblies fai1s.to meet the specified requirements, five additional samples shall be selected at random by the Government inspector for subjection to the destruction test (4.5.8). sample assemblies to meet specified requirements. shall result in rejection of t

The inspection lot shall consist of 250 assemblies or part thereof of the same part number produced under essentially the same manufacturing conditions. The unit of inspection shall be one assembly

25、. All assemblies in any lot shall be made with wire rope from the same shpping reel or. master reel. 4.4.2 Tension tests. The tension tests under qualification testing shall consist of the test given in 4.5.6 and shall be conducted on each tension test specimen as specified in 4.4.2.1 and 4.4.2.3. a

26、nd V only. Terminal tension test specimens shall be made by assembling a production terminal on each end of a length of wire rope ,taken from the same reel of rope as used in production. The assembly shall not exceed ten feet. Type V does not require reinforcing of the apexfor tension specimens. Bef

27、ore a production run is made on a die and also after a die is redressed, a tension test specimen shall be made and tested. Thereafter, tension test specimens shall be made and tested as follows: 4.4.2.1 Integrity of terminal-wire rope connector (Types II, III, a. Terminals swaued in rotari swaainu m

28、achine. Tests shall be made at intervals of every 200th $waging up to the 600th swag and at every 100th swaging thereafter. b I .I _. . Terminals cold foraed or pressed. Tests shall be made at intervals of.every 300th forging or pressing up to the 1000th and at every 150th thereafter : : .I c. Tensi

A tension test production of the last assemb number of terminals since the specimen shall be made after y of a shipment, whenever the last satisfactory test exceeds 20. 4.4.2.2 Tension test failure. If the wire rope tension specimen fails to meet 92 percent of the specified minimum breaking

30、 strength, a second specimen may be prepared and tested. If the second specimen fails to meet the specified requirements the production run between the last sat4 sfactory test specimen and the failed specimen shall be rejected. shall be identified by etching a serial number on the flat of eye end te

31、rminals and on the end of round terminals after cold working. The serial numbers shall run consecutively and continuously in accordance with the sequence of production. 32、B-22036D 17 m 9999906 0492255 9 m 4.4.2.3 Mechanical splice sleeve or poured zinc socket test snecimens (Types I, II and IV only). For Types I and II, two representative mechanical splice specimens shall be tension tested to failure prior to the production run. For Type IV, each of two representativ

33、e specimens with mechanical splice on one end and poured zinc socket on the other end shall be tension tested to failure prior to the production run. The wire rope, splicing medium, and method employed to manufacture test.splices and poured zinc sockets shall be the same as that utilized in producti

34、.on. The overall -length of the wire rope test specimen shall not exceed ten feet. Should either sample of mechanical splice sleeve fail to meet 92 percent of the specified minimum breaking strength of the wire rope, or either sample of poured zinc socket fail to meet 100 percent of the specified mi

35、nimum-breaking strength of the wire rope, cause of failure shall be determined and corrective action shall be made before production run begins. each production lot. rejection of the lot represented. inspections the Government inspectorcshall immediately select two random samples from each lot of as

36、semblies. Samples shall be forwarded to a Government designated test laboratory for the tests listed in Table III. Rejection of any sample for noncompliance with this specification or applicable drawings shall result in rejection of the lot represented. Shipment of lots under consideration from cont

39、.4.4 Foraincr inteurity. One forging from each heat treated lot shall be sectioned for thepurpose of preparing tensile test specimens by the supplier. At least two specimens shall be taken and machined to conform to the largest types which can be accommodated and are described in ASTM E 8, Figure 8,

40、 Standard 0.500-in. Round Tension Test Specimen with 2-111. Gage Length and Examples of Small-Size Specimens Proportional to the Standard Specimen which can be. accommodated. on the parent forging from which the marked specimens are taken in a sketch. One specimen shall be parallel to forging flow d

41、irection and a second at another identifiable angle. Conformance to strength requirements stated on apex fitting and grab hook drawings shall be accomplished in supplier performed tensile tests. All forging data shall be documented in supplier certification of materia composition and strength. The s

D MI L-B-22036D(AS) 4.5 Test methods. 4.5.1 Examination. Each assembly shall be carefully inspected for conforma

43、nce with applicable drawings and requirements of this specification not covered by tests. 4.5.2 Preparation for delivery. The inspector shall ascertainthat the preparation for delivery of the bridles and pendants conforms to this spec i fi cat i on. * 4.5.3 Magnetic particle inspection. Magnetic par

44、ticle inspection on terminals and mechanical splice sleeves shall be conducted in accordance,with MIL-STD-1949 and the applicable drawings. cracks, seams, laps, or other detrimental defects. There shall be no evidence of any * wi us dr 4.5.4. Hardness. Each terminal shall be tested for hardness in a

45、ccordance th the applicable drawing. When a portable Rockwell Hardness Tester is ed, any hardness readings outside the range specified on the applicable .awing shall be rechecked with a standard Rockwell Hardness Tester after the bri.dle/pendant breaking load tests have been completed. obtained with

Each assembly shall be loaded at a maximum rate of 300,000 pounds per minute by applying the proof load as shown in the Proof Load diagrams in the applicable drawings. and repeat
