REQUIREMENTS 3.1 &neral.- Materials, parts and assemblies shall comply with the requirements specified on the applicable drawings, referenced specifica- tions and the following: 3.2 Breakaway torque.- The chamber
8、 and cap of the assembled initiator shall withstand a breakaway torque application of 400 inch pounds without loosening or deformation. 3.3 Residual mapnetism.- The initiator shall not deflect the indicator of an approved compass more than three degrees in either direc- tion when passed in front of
9、the compass at a distance of six inches. 3.4 Functional. 3.4.1 Ballistics.- Initiators loaded with accepted cartridges and temperature conditioned shall produce pressure values specified in Table I. Pressure values shall be recorded at the end of 15 feet of aircraft hose, size no. 4, in accordance w
10、ith Standard MS-28741. 12、ecifications and the following: 3.5.1 Metal defects.- The part shall be free from cracks, splits, cold shuts, inclusions, porosity or similar defects. 3.5.2 Burr.- The part shall not have a burr which might interfere with the assembly or function of the item or which might be injurious to personnel
13、handling the item. 3.5.3 Foreign matter.- The part or assembly shall not contain chips, dirt, grease, rust, corrosion or other foreign matter. -. . 4. QUALT ASSURANCE PROVSSSONS Responsibility for inspection.- Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase.order, the supplier is responsible
14、for the performance of all inspection requirements specified herein. the supplier may utilizehic own facilities or any commercial laboratory accepta- ble to the Government. 4.1 Except as otherwise specified, The Government reserves the right to perform any of the nspectionc set forth in.the specific
15、ation where such inspections are deemed iecessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. 4.1.1 Oualitv assurance terms and definitions.- Reference shall be made to MSL-STD-109 to define quality assurance terms used. 4.1.2 Inspection.- inspection shall be in accordance wi

Failure of any assem
32、bly to comply with the requirements of 3.2 shall be cause for rejection of the assembly. 4.2.3.2 Residual magnetism.- Each assembly shall be subjected to the test for excessive residual magnetism. with the requirements of 3.3 shall be cause for rejection of the assembly. Failure of any assembly to c
33、omply 4.2.3.3 Functional.- The following tests shall be performed by the Government: 4.2.3.3.1 Ballistics.- initiators shall be selected for ballistic tests in the quantity specified in Table XII. Failure of any initiator to comply with the requirements of 3.4.1, 3.4.2 or 3.4.3 shall be cause for re
34、jection of the lot of-initiators, 4.2.4 Inspection equipment.- The examination and tests shall be made using equipment listed on IEL-8658384. 4.3 Test methods and procedures. 4.3.1 Breakaway torque.- A torque wrench, set at the torque requirements specified in 3.2, shall be used in conjunction with
