12、irst article inspection. First article inspection shall consist of all the examinations and tests of this specification. 4.3.1 First article samples. Unless otherwise specified, as soon as practicable after award of contract or order, the manufacturer shall submit three indicators of each part numbe
13、r for first article testing. The samples shall be representative of the construction, work- manship, components, and materials to be used during production. When a manufacturer is in continuous production OE these indicators from contract to contract, submission OF further first article samples on t
14、he new contract may be waived at the discretion of the procuring activity (see 6.5). Approval of the first article samples or the waivlng of the first article inspection does not preclude the requirements of submitting to the quality conformance inspection. The first article sample shall be furnishe
15、d to the Government as directed by the contracting officer (see 6.5). Each sample shall be plainly identified by a securely attached durable tag marked with the following information: Samples for first article inspection Submitted by (name) (date) for tests in accordance with the requirements of spe
16、cification MIL-I-7906A under authorization (reference letter authorizing test). The indicator shall be mounted in a level position on a test fixture permitting rotation about the horizontal and lateral axis and allowed to reach equilibrium.
