TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:3.1 Material:Shal
12、l consist of two components; an epoxy resin base and a hardener. Fillers and modifiers maybe included in either component.3.1.1 Curing: When mixed and cured at room temperature in accordance with manufacturersrecommendations, resin system shall polymerize to a uniform adhesive. The adhesive shallreq
13、uire less than 10 psi (70 kPa) pressure on the bond surface to achieve bond strengthconforming to specified requirements.3.1.2 Shelf Life: Resin base and hardener, stored in unopened containers at not higher than 27 C(80 F) for up to one year, shall meet the requirements of 3.2 after being mixed and
14、 cured as in3.1.1.3.1.3 Pot Life: Adhesive in 100-gram batches, mixed in accordance with manufacturersrecommendations, shall have a useful pot life of not less than 40 minutes when maintained atnot higher than 24 C (75 F).3.2 Properties:The product, when cured to obtain maximum properties in accorda
15、nce with manufacturersrecommendations, shall conform to the requirements in Table 1, 3.2.3, 3.2.4, and 3.2.5; testsshall be performed on the product supplied and in accordance with specified methods, insofar aspracticable. 20、e fromforeign materials and from imperfections detrimental to usage of the product.4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS:4.1 Responsibility for Inspection:(R)The manufacturer of the product shall supply all samples and shall be responsible for all requiredtests. Purchaser reserves the right to sample and
21、to perform any confirmatory testing deemednecessary to ensure that the product conforms to the requirements of this specification.4.2 Classification of Tests:4.2.1 Acceptance Tests: Tests for tensile shear as cured 24 hours at 24 C 1 (75 F 2) (3.2.1.1)and quality (3.3) are acceptance tests and shall
22、 be performed on each lot.SAE INTERNATIONAL AMS3692C Page 4 of 7 4.2.2 Preproduction Tests: Tests for all technical requirements are preproduction tests and shall beperformed prior to or on the initial shipment of the product to a purchaser, when a change iningredients and/or processing requires rea
23、pproval as in 4.4.2, and when purchaser deemsconfirmatory testing to be required.4.2.2.1 For direct U.S. Military procurement, substantiating test data and, when requested,preproduction test material shall be submitted to the cognizant agency as directed by theprocuring activity, contracting officer
24、, or request for procurement.4.3 Sampling and Testing:(R)Shall be as follows:4.3.1 For Acceptance Tests: Sufficient product shall be taken at random from each lot to perform allrequired tests. The number of determinations for each requirement shall be as specified in theapplicable test procedure or,
25、 if not specified therein, not less than five.4.3.1.1 A lot shall be all adhesive produced in a single production run from the same batches of rawmaterials and presented for purchasers inspection at one time. A lot shall not exceed500 pounds (227 kg).4.3.1.2 A statistical sampling plan, acceptable t
26、o purchaser, may be used in lieu of sampling as in(R) 4.3.1.4.3.2 For Preproduction Tests: Shall be acceptable to purchaser.(R)4.4 Approval:4.4.1 Sample adhesive shall be approved by purchaser before adhesive for production use issupplied, unless such approval be waived by purchaser. Results of test
27、s on productionadhesive shall be essentially equivalent to those on the approved sample.4.4.2 Manufacturer shall use ingredients, manufacturing procedures, processes, and methods ofinspection on production adhesive which are essentially the same as those used on theapproved sample. If necessary to m
28、ake any change in ingredients, in type of equipment forprocessing, or in manufacturing procedures, manufacturer shall submit for reapproval astatement of the proposed changes in ingredients and/or processing and, when requested,sample adhesive. Production adhesive made by the revised procedure shall
29、 not be shippedprior to receipt of reapproval.4.5 Test Methods:4.5.1 Tensile Shear: Shall be determined in accordance with ASTM D 1002 with the followingmodifications. Individual test pieces shall be made of AMS 5044 steel, or equivalent, nominally1/8 x 1 x 5 inches (3.2 x 25 x 127 mm) in size. Tens
30、ile holding fixture shall allow sufficientoffset to account for the metal thickness, and through-pin holding arrangement shall beallowable when 1/8 inch (3.2 mm) thick test pieces are used. The test piece width shall be1.0 inch 0.1 (25 mm 0.3) and the overlap area 0.5 square inches (323 mm2). Bondin
31、gfixtures used shall provide identical pressure on the adhesive joint from batch to batch.Bonding surface shall be freshly sand blasted to obtain a uniformly roughened surface and shallbe thoroughly washed with a suitable solvent.SAE INTERNATIONAL AMS3692C Page 5 of 7 4.5.2 Thermal Cycling: Samples
32、shall be subjected to 10 thermal cycles in air as follows and testedat room temperature. One cycle shall consist of 30 minutes 5 at -55 C 1 (-67 F 2),30 minutes 5 at 24 C 1 (75 F 2), 30 minutes 5 at 100 C 1 (212 F 2), and30 minutes 5 at 24 C 1 (75 F 2). The cycle may be extended during any 24 C (75
33、F)conditioning period.4.5.3 Thermal Aging: Samples shall be maintained at 260 C 3 (500 F 5) in a circulating-airoven for 200 hours 12, removed from the oven, and allowed to stabilize at test temperaturefor not less than 2 hours before testing.4.5.4 Fluid Resistance: Seventeen samples shall be prepar
34、ed by dip, spray, or brush coating bothsides and all edges of one half of a tared standard glass microscope slide with a uniform,bubble-free film of adhesive 0.005 to 0.020 inches (0.13 to 0.51 mm) thick. Thin sections oncorners are acceptable. Samples shall be cured according to manufacturersrecomm
35、endations, weighed to 0.0001 gram, and the adhesive film weight calculated. Fivesamples shall be subjected to each test fluid for 96 hours 1 at 100 C 1 (212 F 2).Two samples shall be aged for 96 hours 1 at 100 C + 1 (212 F 2) in a circulating-air oven.Thermal aged samples shall be cooled, allowed to
36、 stabilize at 24 C 1 (75 F 2) in adesiccator, and weighed. Samples subjected to volatile solvents shall be cooled to 24 C 1(75 F 2) in the solvent, removed from the solvent, wiped dry, and weighed immediately.Samples subjected to non-volatile fluids shall be cooled to 24 C 1 (75 F 2), washed free of
37、excess material with a suitable solvent, allowed to stabilize to constant weight, and weighedimmediately. The initial and final average weights of samples exposed to each fluid and to hotair shall be determined and the difference expressed as percent weight change. Results shallbe recorded as the di
38、fference between the percent weight change of the air aged samples andthe fluid aged samples.4.5.5 Volatile Content: Shall be determined by weighing, to the nearest 0.001 gram, into a tared(R) weighing dish approximately three grams of adhesive (W1) mixed for application in accordancewith manufactur
39、ers instructions. Cure the adhesive in accordance with manufacturersinstructions, heat the cured adhesive for 60 minutes 5 at 110 C 5 (230 F 9), cool toroom temperature in a desiccator, and weigh to the nearest 0.001 gram (W2). Calculate thevolatiles in accordance with Equation 1.Volatile Content =

42、with, the report of preproduction test results or, ifpreproduction testing be waived by purchaser, concurrent with the first shipment of adhesive forproduction use. Each request for modification of adhesive formulation shall be accompanied bya revised data sheet for the proposed formulation.4.7 Resa
43、mpling and Retesting:(R)If any specimen used in the above tests fails to meet the specified requirements, disposition ofthe adhesive may be based on the results of testing three additional specimens for each originalnonconforming specimen. Failure of any retest specimen to meet the specified require
44、mentsshall be cause for rejection of the adhesive represented. Results of all tests shall be reported.5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY:5.1 Packaging and Identification:5.1.1 The product shall be supplied in kit form with separate containers of base resin formulation andof hardening agent. Type and size o
45、f containers shall be acceptable to purchaser.5.1.1.1 A lot of adhesive may be packaged in small quantities and delivered under the basic lotapproval provided lot identification is maintained.5.1.2 Each container shall be legibly identified with not less than the following information, applied todur

47、ES5.1.3 Individual packages shall be legibly marked on the exterior with not less than the informationspecified in 5.1.2, with the addition of the applicable purchase order number, so that themarkings will not smear or be obliterated during normal handling and use.5.1.4 Containers of adhesive shall be prepared for shipment in accordance with commercial practice(R) and in compliance with applicable rules and regulations pertaining to the handling, packaging,and transportation of the adhesive to ensure carrier acceptance and safe delivery.5.1.5 For
