、by IHS under license with EIANot for ResaleNo reproduction or networking permitted without license from IHS-,-,-TIA-470.110-C-1 INTRODUCTION Since TIA-470.110-C was first published in 2004, several events have occurred that contributed to the need for a revision of the standard. 1. A new version of

、ITU-T P.57 (11/2005) was published changing the Type 3.3 pinna simulator hardness requirement from Shore-00 55 to Shore-00 35. 2. Field data indicated multi-lab correlation problems can occur when handset positioning is specified as ERP. The same field data indicated that the correlation problem doe

、s not occur when handset positioning is specified using force. 3. A Type 3.3 pinna simulator can now be obtained from multiple vendors. Clause 2 of this addendum contains changes to TIA-470.110-C. The information in clause 2 of this document identifies the original clause numbers in TIA-470.110-C th

、at are to be changed. The other clauses in TIA-470.110-C are not affected. ivCopyright Telecommunications Industry Association Provided by IHS under license with EIANot for ResaleNo reproduction or networking permitted without license from IHS-,-,-TIA-470.110-C-1 Telephone Terminal Equipment Handset

SCOPE This addendum only provides changes to TIA-470.110-C, “Telecommunications Telephone Terminal Equipment Handset Acoustic Performance Requirements”. 2. Some telephone designs may include non-linear processes (which may not respond reliably to sinusoidal signals); thus it may be advisable to use artificial speech as a test signal a

、s described in IEEE Std 269. Mouth and ear simulator selection, calibration, usage and handset positioning shall be done according to IEEE Std 269 unless stated otherwise in this document. A Type 3.3 ear simulator (see ITU-T Recommendation P.57) shall be used for all measurements with the handset in

、 the HATS position and the receiver located at the high leak position unless stated otherwise in this document. Note: Previous versions of P.57 have specified the 3.3 pinna with different characteristics. Only the 3.3 pinna meeting the requirements of P.57 (November 2005) is acceptable for use as de

、scribed in this standard. Replace clause 4.2.1 with the following: 4.2.1 Standard Test Positions Unless otherwise specified, all tests shall be performed at the high leak position as defined below: The Type 3.3 artificial ear with the receiver contacting the pinna with a force of 10N. Some tests sha

、icense from IHS-,-,-TIA-470.110-C-1 Replace clause 4.2.2 with the following: 4.2.2 Recommended Test Positions A manufacturer may specify Recommended Test Positions (RTP) for the high leak and the low leak positions, to be used for all tests in this standard. The RTP may specify the handset position

、with respect to ERP, or other aspects of the test position intended to simulate actual use. If the CPE is tested at the RTP, the RTP shall be documented. RTP for a handset may be defined (using coordinates as defined in ITU-T P.64, Annex E) by following these steps: 1. Find the Ear-Cap Reference Point (ECRP) on the handset. Unless otherwise specified by the manufacturer, the ECRP is the intersection of the external ear-cap reference plane with a normal axis through the effective acoustic center of the sound outlet ports. Generally, the acoustic center of the sound outlet
