6、1ii blankBSSP 65:1955 BSI 02-2000 1 1 Scope This British Standard specifies the material, dimensions and finish of aluminium alloy solid taper pins for aeronautical purposes. 2 Material The pins shall be manufactured from material complying with the requirements of BS L 168 1) . 3 Dimensions The pin
7、s shall conform to the dimensions and limits specified in Table 1 after protective treatment. The nominal size of the pin is the nominal fractional diameter at the small end. The large end of the pins shall be domed in shape, or, at the option of the manufacturer, may be in the form of a cone as sho
8、wn in Figure 2. The small end of the pins shall be machined but may be of any suitable form, at the option of the manufacturer. 4 Finish The pins shall have a smooth machined or ground finish and shall be free from defects. 5 Protective treatment The pins shall be anodized in accordance with DEF151.
9、 6 Identification a) The pins shall be dyed blue by an approved process. b) The pins shall be identified for ordering by the number of this British Standard, together with the appropriate part reference shown in Table 1, e.g. a 1 / 8 1 1 / 2in. pin is BS SP65H.12.
