A woven textile glass fibre fabric preimpregnate with a thermosetting resin is a material purchased in the form of a synthetic resin impregnated woven textile glass fib
9、re fabric and used or the manufacture of moulded components. PRINCIPLE OF THE METHOD Weighing of test specimens of known surface area after conditioning in a specified atmosphere. STANDARD ATMOSPHERE FOR CONDITIONING AND TESTING 6.1 Conditioning 6.1.1 Material stored at ambient temperature Iinless otherwise specified, the necessary amount o material (see clause 7) shall be sampled and conditioned Ln the standard testing atmosphere (see clause 6.2.1) for
11、a minimum of 2 h. 12、ored below ambient temperature The material, suitably packed in an airtight and solvent resistant bag to prevent moisture pick-up, shall be allowed to reach ambient temperature over a period of time according to the mass of the package. This time shall not be less than 8 h and the actual tine shall
13、be recorded in the report. When the material has reached the ambient temperature, the necessar? amount (see clause 7) shall be sampled and conditicned in the standard testing atmosphere (see clause 6.2.1), for a minimum of 2 h, unless otherwise sDecified. 6.2 Testing 6.2.1 Standard atmosphere for te
14、sting The standard atmosphere shall be in accordance with standard EN62, that is to say that the tests shall be carried out at 23 i 2OC and 50 1: 5% relative humidity. 6.2.2 Time interval between conditioning and testing After conditioning, the test shall be carried out within 6 h, unless otherwise
15、specified, the specimen being kept in the standard atmosphere until the test is carried out. 7 SAMPLING 7.1 Test specimen The specimen shall have a length of 100 ;r 1 mm and a width of 100 2 1 mm. Other dimensions of the test specimen may be used subject to agreement between the purchaser and suppli
16、er, but having a surface area of 100 cm2 with an accuracy of rt 2%. 17、test specimens Five test specimens shall be used. These shall be evenly distributed over the width and cut frim the sample diagonally (45) either across the width or along an axis inclined at an angle as close as possible to the weft directian. The specimens shall not be closer than 50 mm to the edg

21、te (see clause 5.2). Weigh each specimen with its separating film to the nearest mg (ml) q). Remove the separating film and reweigh this to the nearest mg 9 CALCULATION AND EXPRESSION OF RESULTS The mass per square metre for each test specimen is calculated from the formula : where : m = the mass pe
22、r unit area, in g/m , ml = the mass of the specimen plus separating film, in g, m2 = the mass of the separating film, in g. - - 2 Calculate the arithmetic mean of the values obtained for m , to the nearest g/m2. 10 TEST REPORT The test report shall include the following information : 10.1 Number of
23、this standard, 10.2 Reference to-the type of preimpregnate, with comPlete description, 10.3 Dimensions of specimens if these differ from clause 7.1, 10.4 The actual time used for the preconditioning, 10.5 The individual mass values, 10.6 The arithmetic mean value of the mass per square metre, 10.7 Observations on any circumstances liable to influence the results.
