3、 practice requirements formonolithic or sectional corrugated polyethylene grease inter-ceptor tanks with volumes equal to or greater than 333 gal(1,260 L).1.2 The corrugated high density polyethylene (HDPE)grease interceptor tanks are placed between commercial foodservice (kitchen) drains and sanita

4、ry sewer interceptors tominimize the impact of commercial food service effluentcontaining grease, oils, soap scum and other typical commer-cial food service wastes on the sanitary sewer system. Typicalsources of commercial kitchen effluent are scullery sinks, potand pan sinks, dishwashers, soup kett

5、les and floor drains wheregrease containing materials may exist.1.3 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regardedas standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematicalconversions to SI units that are provided for information onlyand are not considered standard.1.4 This specificatio

Ordering Information4.1 The owner shall include the following information inbidding documents and on the purchase order, as applicable tothe units being ordered:4.1.1 Reference to this specification, and date of issue,4.1.2 Quantity or number of units ordere

23、d,4.1.3 Capacity of tank in gal or L, based on ownersrequirements,4.1.4 Application conditions such as effluent and tempera-ture of discharge,4.1.5 Acceptance will be based on a review of the calcula-tions or on proof tests,4.1.6 Design requirements based on owner specified siteconditions, such as d

24、epth of earth cover, live load applied at thesurface, and ground water level, and4.1.7 Testing for water leakage shall not be required at thejob site unless specifically required by the owner at the time ofordering.5. Materials and Manufacture5.1 Basic MaterialsMaterials utilized for the fabrication

25、of a corrugated polyethylene grease interceptor tank shall beevaluated for temperature extremes and effluent constituents inaccordance with Practice D543.5.1.1 Tank and RisersThe tank and risers shall be fabri-cated from pipe meeting the requirements of SpecificationF2306/F2306M.5.1.2 Inlet and Outl

26、et TeesInlet and outlet tees shall befabricated from pipe meeting the requirements of SpecificationF2306/F2306M or F714.5.1.3 Vent pipes and internal tank pipingVent pipe andinternal piping within the grease interceptor shall be fabricatedfrom pipe and fittings meeting the requirements of Specifica-

27、tion F2306/F2306M for dual wall pipe and Specification F667for single wall pipe.5.1.4 Baffles and End CapsBaffles and end caps shall befabricated from either flat plates meeting the requirements ofPPI TR-4 PE3408 material.5.1.5 Welding RodWelding rod shall be of medium or highdensity polyethylene, m

28、eeting the properties of the tank asrequired under Specification F2306/F2306M with the excep-tion that the tensile strength at yield shall not be less than 5000psi (3.5 M Kg/m2).5.2 Pipe ConnectionsPipe-to-tank connections shall em-ploy flexible connectors conforming to the requirements ofSpecificat

29、ion F477. Materials for the connectors shall havedemonstrated resistance to the effects of fats, oils, grease, andfluid temperatures specified under Section 4.6. Structural Design Requirements6.1 Structural design of grease interceptor tanks shall be bycalculation.FIG. 1 Standard Corrugated HDPE Gre

30、ase InterceptorF2649 1426.1.1 Design by calculation shall be completed using theAASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, Section 12,“Buried Structures and Tunnel Liners.”6.1.2 Tanks shall be designed so that they will not collapseor rupture when subjected to anticipated earth and hydrostaticpressur

31、es when the tanks are either full or empty. Design of endcaps must consider the lateral load of both external water andearth loading including consideration of strength and deflectionof the end cap, and how the load is transferred to and carriedby the barrel of the tank.6.1.3 After installation cond

32、itions are established, loadsfromAASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, Section 3,“Loads and Load Factors,” shall be used for design. Unlessheavier live loads are expected, the minimum live load at thesurface for design shall be an AASHTO H20 truck load.6.2 OpeningsThe structural design shall tak

33、e into consid-eration the number, placement, and size of all openings.7. Physical Design Requirements7.1 CapacitySizes are generally specified by local regu-lations and they shall supersede the following guidelines.When local regulations are not available, minimum greaseinterceptor capacity shall me

34、et the performance requirementsof IAPMO/ANSI Z1001 orASCE No. 60 and be determined byuse of one of the two sizing options below:7.1.1 Option 1: The tank shall be sized in accordance withflow figures and factors listed in the Uniform Plumbing Code.7.1.2 Option 2: The tank shall be sized by using the

35、actualaverage daily-metered water use figures from the facilitymultiplied by a safety factor of 1.5.7.2 Compartments:7.2.1 Grease interceptor tank systems that utilize multiplecompartments shall have the dividing walls welded to the tankbody.7.2.1.1 Welding of the dividing wall shall be done byconti

36、nuous extrusion welding on both sides of the wall.7.2.1.2 Welding rod shall be of medium or high densitypolyethylene meeting the properties for the tank as requiredunder Specification F2306/F2306M with the exception that thetensile strength at yield shall not be less than 5000 psi (3.5 MKg/m2).7.2.2

37、 Multiple units installed in series are acceptable.7.2.3 Each compartment shall have a riser access for clean-out and maintenance.7.3 Influent and Effluent Pipes:7.3.1 The influent pipe shall be no less than 4 in. (100 mm)in diameter.7.3.2 The difference between the invert of the influent pipeand th

38、e invert of the effluent pipe shall be a minimum of 2 in.(50 mm).7.3.3 Inlet and outlet pipes shall be connected to the tankwith a sealed flexible connector conforming to F477 toaccommodate tank movement.7.4 Outlet Devices:7.4.1 If tees or outlet filters are added, they shall be madeof noncorrosive

39、materials and be permanently connected withnoncorrosive fasteners to either the inside of the tank or theoutlet pipe.7.4.2 Outlet filter device, if specified, shall be installed inaccordance with manufacturers recommendations or require-ments of regulating agencies, or both.7.4.3 Specifications for

40、tees and outlet filters shall be inaccordance with normal, low-flow conditions. High-flowconditions, created when liquid is pumped from another tank,will require consideration for other dimensions. Design by aregistered professional engineer is required for these cases.7.5 Openings in Tank Top:7.5.1

41、 An access opening shall be located over the influenttee and the effluent tee. Where an opening has any dimensiongreater than 12 in. (300 mm) the cover shall weigh a minimumof 59 lb (27 kg.) or be provided with a lock system to preventunauthorized entrance.7.5.2 An access opening or inspection openi

42、ng shall beprovided to permit pumping of all compartments.7.5.3 All openings, risers, and covers shall be sealed withresilient watertight seals meeting F477.7.6 End Plates:7.6.1 End plates shall be welded to the ends of the pipesections to form the completed tank.7.6.1.1 Welding of the end plates sh

43、all be done by continu-ous extrusion welding on both sides of the wall.7.6.2 End caps shall be fabricated from flat plates meetingthe requirements of PPI TR-4 PE3408 material.8. Quality Control and Sampling8.1 The manufacturer shall certify that the product meetsthree criteria: (1) water tightness,

44、(2) physical dimensions, and(3) strength of grease interceptor tank.8.2 Installation shall be in accordance with manufacturersinstructions.9. Performance Test Methods9.1 Testing for leakage of the tank shall be performed usingeither vacuum testing or water-pressure testing. This testing isonly to co

45、nfirm the integrity of the welds and homogenousquality of the wall. Pressure testing of the joints and anysimilar connections shall be in accordance with 9.2.9.1.1 Vacuum TestingSeal the empty tank and apply avacuum to 100 mm (4 in.) of mercury. The tank is approved ifthe vacuum is held for 2 min.9.

46、1.2 Water-Pressure TestingSeal the tank and fill withwater. The tank is approved if water level is held for minimumof 15 minutes with no signs of leakage.9.2 Testing of all bell and spigot joints shall be inaccordance with Specification D3212.10. Dimensions and Permissible Variations10.1 Dimensional

47、 TolerancesThe length, width, height, ordiameter measurements of the grease interceptor tank whenmeasured on the inside surface shall not be less than 99 % ofthe design dimensions.11. Repairs11.1 Repairs of corrugated HDPE grease interceptor tanks,when required, shall be performed in accordance with

48、 theF2649 143manufacturers recommendations in a manner ensuring that therepaired grease interceptor tank will conform to the require-ments of this specification.12. Rejection12.1 Corrugated HDPE grease interceptor tanks or sectionsof grease interceptor tanks shall be subject to rejection becauseof f

49、ailure to conform after repairs to any of the requirementscontained in this specification.13. Product Marking13.1 Each grease interceptor tank shall be clearly markedwithin 2 ft (0.6 m) of the inlet to the tank by indentation orother approved means with (1) date manufactured, (2) name ortrademark of the manufacturer, (3) tank capacity, (4) minimumand maximum amount of earth cover in ft (or m), inlet andoutlet clearly identified with this designation ASTM F2649,unless required otherwise by local codes.13.2 When all the requirements of this specificatio
