1、Designation: F656 15 An American National StandardStandard Specification forPrimers for Use in Solvent Cement Joints of Poly(VinylChloride) (PVC) Plastic Pipe and Fittings1This standard is issued under the fixed designation F656; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year of

2、 originaladoption or, in the case of revision, the year of last revision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. A superscriptepsilon () indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope*1.1 This specification covers requirements for primers foruse

3、with poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) pipe and fittings that are tobe joined by PVC solvent cements meeting the requirements ofSpecification D2564.1.2 These primers are used in pressure and nonpressureapplications with plain end pipe and either socket-type fittingsor bell end pipe. These primers prepare t

17、e.14.2 The solvent system to be used in the formulation of thisprimer is not specified.NOTE 1If required for identification purposes, colorants shall be usedin the primer. It is recommended that orange not be used, since this is therecommended color for CPVC solvent cement covered under Specifica-ti

Add the resin to the primer andcontinue mixing for 60 min at a mixing speed of 1500 r/min orless, using a mixing blade and speed so that the maximumtemperature of the mixture during the mixing period is 90F(32C) or less. After

22、60 min, turn off the mixer and adjust thetemperature to 73.4 6 3.6F (23 6 2C).6.1.2 Visually observe whether the resin is completelydissolved. The solution shall be smooth, nongrainy, free-flowing, and shall not contain any undissolved resin.6.2 StabilityHold the resin-primer solution at 40F (5C)for

23、 24 h and then observe that (1) the resin is still completelydissolved, (2) the solution is free flowing, and (3) there are nosigns of stringiness or gelatin structure.7. Retest and Rejection7.1 If the results of any test(s) do not meet the requirementsof this specification, the test(s) shall be con
