1、 A-A-59660 23 September, 2004 COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION GRAPPLING HOOK, COLLAPSIBLE The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description (CID), for all government agencies. 1. SCOPE. This CID covers the requirement for a Grappling Hook, Collapsible (GHC).
2、The GHC shall be a lightweight, portable, and reusable device that can be used by individuals for entry into, and exit from buildings or other structures. 2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS 2.1 Materials. Unless otherwise specified herein, the materials used shall be in accordance with the manufacturers spe
3、cifications as required to meet the performance requirements of this CID. All surfaces shall be cleaned, primed, treated and finished in accordance with the manufacturers standard commercial practices to resist corrosion. 2.2 Design and Construction. The GHC shall be capable of being collapsed, fold
4、ed or retracted into a compact shape that fits inside a 4 in. by 4 in. by 10 in. envelope. The GHC shall be capable of being deployed or retracted within 30 seconds. This shall be accomplished without the use of tools. The GHC shall have a minimum 1-in. diameter hole or shackle opening for rope atta
5、chment. The GHC shall have 3 or more equally spaced tines. The maximum weight of the GHC shall not exceed 1.6 lb. 7、 from IHS-,-,-A-A-59660 22.3 Performance. The GHC shall be capable of supporting a minimum of 1608 pounds when tested on an Instron Structural Testing System or equivalent. There shall be no structural failure or deformation that would render it unusable for future use. The GHC shall be capable of o
8、perating in adverse weather conditions. 2.4 Instruction Booklet. An instruction booklet shall be included which gives detailed instructions on the use and care of the GHC. The instruction booklet shall include illustrations depicting a step-by-step approach when deploying and stowing the GHC. 2.5 Id
9、entification and Markings. The GHC shall be permanently marked with the manufacturers part number. 3. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation
10、(FAR). 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS. 4.1 Product Conformance. The product provided shall meet the salient characteristics of this commercial item description, conform to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices, and be the same product offered for sal
11、e in the commercial marketplace. The government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance. 4.2 Market Acceptability. The item offered must have been sold to the Government or commercial market. 5. PACKAGING. Preservation, packing, labeling and marking shall be as specified in the contr
12、act or order. 6. NOTES. 6.1 Intended use. The collapsible grappling hook, covered by this CID (NSN: 2040-01-499-0035), will be used by individuals to enter or exit buildings and structures. It will be used on roofs or windows to provide a safe anchor point for climbing or rappelling. The collapsibil
13、ity allows it to be stowed and carried easier. 6.2 Ordering Data.
