The density shall be determined using the comparative weight method (weight in air - weight in distilled water). Com
18、pensating factors for air and water temperature shall be used in computing the density.“ * 4.5.5: Delete in its entirety and substitute the following: “4.5.5 Plastic inteqrity. In preparation for testing the container lid, the container lid shall be bonded to the smoke container (vice versa applies
19、when the smoke container is to be tested, namely the smoke container shall be bonded to the container lid) after the smoke container is filled with 14 k 1 gram of smoke composition per drawing 9334147. The smoke container assembly shall be completely assembled into an M75 Grenade, except a modified
20、M231 Fuze shall be used. A modified M231 is the same as an M231, except a hole is drilled/milled into the fuze body to allow for external initiation of the M55 detonator in its fully safe position. Instead of staking, the modified M231 shall be secured to the M75 Grenade in such a way that will prov
21、ide the equivalent retaining force but allows for easy removal of the modified M231 without damaging the grenade. The complete M75 Grenade shall be conditioned to -5OO k 5OF for 4 hours prior to the test. Within 3 minutes after removal from the conditioning chamber, the modified M231 shall be initia
22、ted by dropping an external firing pin (P/N 9345321 for configur- ation of firing pin tip). Minimum energy required to fire the M55 Detonator is 0.75 inch-ounce. After initiation of the detonator, the smoke container assembly shall be inspected for any evidence of cracks. The lot shall be rejected i
