、Designation: A 1022/A 1022M 07Standard Specification forDeformed and Plain Stainless Steel Wire and Welded Wirefor Concrete Reinforcement1This standard is issued under the fixed designation A 1022/A 1022M; the number immediately following the designation indicates theyear of original adoption or, in

、 the case of revision, the year of last revision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of lastreapproval. A superscript epsilon (e) indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope*1.1 This specification covers stainless steel wire and weldedwire reinforcement produ

、ced from hot-rolled stainless steelrod. The stainless steel wire is cold-worked, drawn or rolled, plain (non-deformed) or deformed or a combination of de-formed and plain. It is used as concrete reinforcement forapplications requiring resistance to corrosion and/or controlledmagnetic permeability. Co

、mmon wire sizes and dimensions arefound in this specification. Actual wire sizes are not restrictedto those shown in the tables.1.2 Supplement S1 describes high strength wire, which shallbe furnished when specifically ordered. It shall be permissibleto furnish high strength wire in place of regular

、wire ifmutually agreed to by the purchaser and supplier.1.2.1 A supplementary requirement (S2) of an optionalnature is provided. It shall apply only when specified by thepurchaser. In order to obtain a corrosion tested or controlledmagnetic permeability product, steel conforming to Supple-mentary Re

、quirement S2 should be ordered.1.3 The chemical composition of the steel (stainless grade)shall be selected for suitability to the application involved byagreement between the manufacturer and the purchaser. UseSpecification A 276 for chemical requirements. The UNSdesignations are to be included wit

、s reinforcement in concrete because of their highcorrosion resistance. Austenitic stainless steels have good general corro-sion resistance, strength characteristics which can be improved by coldworking, good toughness and ductility properties at low temperatures, andlow magnetic permeability. Duplex

、 stainless steels have generally acorrosion resistance greater than that of most austenitic steels and aremagnetic. Other stainless steels with different chemical compositions thanthe series and types mentioned above, may be used for less restrictiveapplications.1.4 Wire for welded wire reinforcemen

Otherstrength levels shall be by agreement between the purchaserand manufacturer.NOTE 2The term used to refer to yield strength levels are the same asthose in ASTM Standards for welded wire reinforcement.1.5 The values stated in ei

、ther SI units or inch-pound unitsare to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated ineach system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, eachsystem shall be used independently of the other. Combiningvalues from the two systems may result in non-conformancewith the standard.2. Referenced
