Terminology3.1 Terms shall be defined in accordance with TerminologyB 899.3.2 Definitions of Terms Specific to This Standard:3.2.1 jumbo ingot, nlarg
7、e casting of zinc or zinc alloy,having through holes for chains, designed for handling bymechanical equipment, which is also referred to as a jumbo orstrip jumbo.3.2.2 block ingot, nlarge casting of zinc or zinc alloy,having lift pockets, designed for handling by mechanicalequipment, which is also r

Ordering Information4.1 Orders for jumbo or block ingots, or both, under thisspecification shall include the following information:4.1.1 This specification number and date,4.1.2 Quantity (weight),4.1.3 Name of material and grade, and the4.1.4 Type of ingot (Jumbo, Type 1 Blo
9、ck, or Type 2 Block),4.1.5 Order may stipulate dimensions, or tolerances, orboth, not meeting this specification only upon mutual writtenagreement between purchaser and producer.5. Materials and Manufacture5.1 The producer shall use care to have each lot of zincmetal or zinc alloy jumbo or block ing
10、ots be of as uniformquality as possible.6. Dimensions, Mass, and Permissible Variations6.1 Jumbo Ingots6.1.1 Permissible variations in dimensions and tolerancesfor zinc or zinc alloy jumbo ingots shall be within the limitsspecified in Table 1 and Fig. 1 unless prior written agreementexists between p
11、urchaser and producer for nonstandard dimen-sions and tolerances.6.1.2 Jumbo ingot weight shall be 2400 6100 lbs (1089 645 kg).6.2 Block Ingots6.2.1 Permissible variations in dimensions and tolerancesfor zinc or zinc alloy block ingot shall be within the limitsspecified in Table 2 and Figs. 2 and 3

Appearance7.1 Jumbo or block i
16、ngots, or both, shall be reasonably freefrom dross, cracks, adhering foreign matter, undue surfaceoxide, and any “flash” that would interfere with handling anduse.8. Product Marking8.1 The producers name or a brand name by which theproducer can be identified shall be cast or stamped on eachjumbo ing
17、ot.8.2 Each jumbo or block ingot shall be marked with theproducers heat, lot, or other identification mark.8.3 Additional product marking (color code, etc.) will not berequired unless agreed to by the purchaser and producer.9.
