、Designation: C 1488 04Standard Practice forSimulated Aging of Cellulosic Loose-Fill Insulation1This standard is issued under the fixed designation C 1488; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or, in the case of revision, the year of last revision. A
、 number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. Asuperscript epsilon (e) indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval. This standard has been approved for use by agencies of the Department of Defense.1. Scope1.1 This practice covers a procedure to simulate the agi
、ngprocess of cellulosic loose-fill insulation by subjecting it tocontrolled laboratory conditions of temperature and humidityso that the insulation will be further evaluated, particularly forcritical radiant flux characteristics.1.2 It is not the intent of this practice to establish agingconditions

The values in parentheses are provided for informa-tion only.1.4 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is theresponsibility of
、 the user of this standard to establish appro-priate safety and health practices and determine the applica-bility of regulatory requirements prior to use.2. 20、.X2. PROCEDURE TO DETERMINE CHANGE IN WEIGHTX2.1 A change in weight due to conditioning can be usefulinformation to the user of this standard in evaluating changes,if any, in performance characteristics. A change in weight canbe calculated using the following procedure:C 5 W1 W3/ W1 W2! 3 100# (X2.1
、)where:C = percentage change in weight after conditioning treat-ment,W1= weight of specimen and specimen holder before theconditioning treatment, grams,W2= weight of empty specimen holder/tray, grams, andW3= weight of specimen and specimen holder after theconditioning treatment, grams.ASTM Internati
