16、y a uniformly distributed load of 3.5 MPa (500 psi) of actual gasket area for a period of 5 min. The gasket shall be loaded until the specified load is maintained for the specified time. The average amount of compressibility of the gasket shall be not less than 15 per cent. Three samples of each typ

17、e, each size, and each thickness shall be tested, and all shall pass. 3.4 Internal Pressure Plastic pressure-retaining components of metal tanks shall meet the internal pressure requirements of Clause 4.3. April 1988 Amendment No. 8 8306- M 1977 Clause 3.4 (existing)-Renumber to Clause 3.5 and revis

18、e to read: 3.5 Metal components of all tanks made of copper alloy containing more than 15 per cent zinc shall not show any cracking when tested in accordance with ASTM Standard 8154. 19、hall show no evidence of corrosion when tested in accordance with ASTM Standard B117 with a salt concentratin of 20 per cent for 14 d or 5 per cent for 21 d. 5.2.2 Following the test of Clause5.2.1, the tank shall show no evidence of leakage when filled with air at a 35 kPa differential and submerge

Clause 7.7-Revise Clause 7.7 to read as follows: 7.7 The container shall be filled to its nominal capacity by weight

22、 with water at 2OoC (68F) and the closures secured. It shall be dropped, free fall, onto a level, solid, rigid surface. The drop shall be made as follows: 1 drop on the bottom; 1 drop on a bottom corner; 1 drop on a side; and 1 drop on each closure. The distance of fall measured from the lowest poin

The initial request for such a Standard came from the Energy Safety B

35、ranch of the Ontario Government in 1974 when the need became evident for a Standard similar to CSA Standard B252 for portable metal containers for gasoline and other petroleum fuels. A Technical Committee, representative of producers and users, was therefore organized and has had many meetings in wh

36、ich ideas and recommendations have been exchanged in an effort to reach a safe and practicable Standard. In this Standard, all measurement-sensitive parts of the text use the International System of Units (SI) even though approximate equivalents in the Imperial system are given for the various SI va

37、lues shown. The Standard is therefore considered to be a f?metriclf standara enabling its use in a ?metricf1 environment. This Standard was prepared by the Technical Committee on Portable Fuel Tanks for Marine Use under the jurisdiction of the Standards Steering Committee on Fire Prevention and Prot

38、ection and was formally approved by these Committees. B306-Ml977 Portable Fuel Tanks for Marine Use Scope 1.1 This Standard covers portable fuel tanks with a rated capacity of not more

43、than 30 L (7 Canadian gallons), designed to be connected to gasoline-fuelled engines aboard boats by flexible fuel lines which may be disconnected for refilling and portability. 1.2 This Standard applies to fuel tank and fuel line assemblies and components to the point of connection at the engine, t

44、ogether or separately . 1.3 This Standard applies to tanks made of metal or plastic intended for storage and transportation of petroleum fuels having a tag closed cup flash point below 4OoC (1000F). 1.4 This Standard does not cover portable fuel tanks pressurized by means other than fuel vapour pres

45、sure; nor does it cover containers intended for storing and dispensing fuel within the scope of: (a) CSA Standard B144, Portable Plastic Containers for Petroleum Fuels; (b) CSA Standard B252, Portable Metal Containers for Gasoline and Other Petroleum Fuels. 1.5 Portable fuel tanks which comply with

46、this Standard shall not be acceptable if, when examined and tested, they are found to have additional features which reduce the safety standard contemplated. Note: Products in substantial accord with this Standard but which exhibit minor differences from it may be deemed to meet the Standard providi

47、ng it can be demonstrated to the satisfaction of the authority having jurisdiction, the intended user of the product, or the certification agency acting on their behalf, that these differences will not impair the suitability of the product for its intended purpose. 2. 2.1 Materials 2.1.1 Materials u

49、; and (b) Predominantly coloured red in accordance with CGSB Standard 1-GP-lZc, Standard Paint Colors, Code Series 509-101, 509-102, 509- 103 or 508-101, Gloss, Semi-Gloss or Flat. Plastic material from test tanks shall not be reused if the tank was exposed to liquids other than water.
