DIN EN ISO 14557 has been published as a consolidated edition incorporating Amendment A1:2007 into DIN EN ISO 14557:200

Together with DIN EN 694, DIN EN 1947 and DIN EN 14540, this standard is one of a four-part series of firefighting standards that have been developed by CEN/TC 1
7、92/WG 1. Since 2001 this series has been gradually adopted at national level, whereby all conflicting national standards have had to be withdrawn. Because this series of European Standards takes into consideration all suction hoses currently in use in Europe, rubber and plastics suction hoses as in
8、this standard have been classified into two types, and fourteen possible inside diameters are given. During the next revision of this European Standard, a review based on market considerations will show whether or not this extensive classification will continue to be necessary. DIN designation EN IS
9、O 14557:2002 + A1:2007 does not specify a designation. To ensure the compatibility of all fire extinguishing components used in Germany, the following couplings are to
21、be used with hoses as in this European Standard. In Germany, suction hoses not included in the preferred series given in Table NA.1 shall also be compatible with the couplings in Table NB.1, or where the internal diameter deviates from those in Table NA.1 couplings shall be selected that are suitabl
22、e to that diameter or they shall be altered to fit the hose so that a secure coupling and proper functioning of the suction line is ensured in all cases.
