This commercial item description covers a 36 inches long jaw splint, suitable for the fixation of maxillary and mandibular
2、 fractures. Salient characteristics: General. The jaw splint shall be in accordance with the applicable requirements of Federal Specification GG-1-526, and as specified herein. Style, desiqn and dimensions. The jaw splint shall be a dental arch bar splint of Erich design, suitable for the fixation o
3、f maxillary and mandibular fractures. The jaw splint shall be 36 inches long and shall conform to Defense Personnel Support Center (DPSC) Drawing 24365, revised 7 March 1980. The jaw splint shall consist of a base arch bar with hooks offset from base bar. The jaw splint shall be compatible with oral
4、 environment retaining a bright, smooth surface during the course of the treatment. The jaw splint shall be suitable for use with NSN 6520-01-094-1970. Materials. The jaw splint shall be fabricated of suitable annealed temper AISI 302 or AISI 304 austenitic corrosion- resisting steel as specified in
5、 ASTM-899 for composition only. Finish. The jaw splint shall have a smooth, tumbled, bright electropalished finish. Boil test. shall show no signs of corrosion, when subjected to the boil test as specified in GG-1-526. The jaw splint shall be properly passivated and Workmanship. untrimmed metal whic
6、h will detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability. Unit. Each (EA). One splint, as specified constitutes one unit . Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractar is responsible for the performance of all inspection req
8、uirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specificed herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to p
9、erform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. Records. Records of examinations and tests performed by or for the contractor shall be maintained by the contractor and made av
10、ailable to the Government upon the Governments request, at any time, or from time to time, during the performance of the contract and for a period of three years after delivery of the supplies to which such records relate. Inspection. Inspection, as used herein, is defined as both examination (such
11、as visual or auditory investigation without the use of special laboratory appliances or procedures) and testing (determination by technical means of physical and chemical properties) of the item. Samplinq for inspection. Sampling for inspection shall be conducted in accordance with MIL-STD-105. Wher
12、e feasible, the same sample shall be used for the determination of two or more inspection characteristics. The unit of product for inspection purposes shall be one jaw splint. Unless otherwise specified, sampling for examination shall be conducted at inspection level II, AQL 2.5, and sampling for te
13、sts (when applicable) shall be conducted at inspection level S-I, AQL 1.0. Contractor certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this description and conforms to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assuranc

Unless otherwise specified, preservation, packaging, and packing shall be to a degree of protection to preclude damage to containers and/or contents thereof under normal shipping conditions, handling, etc., involving shipment from the s
19、upply source to the receiving activity, plus reshipment from receiving activity, and shall conform to applicable carriers rules and regulations.
