It is identical with IEC 94-1:1981 and its Amendment 1: July1994, p

The cross-reference of this standard as Part1 of the BS6288 series has been retained for ease of reference to other Parts of the series. This British Standard supersedes BS6288-1:1982 which is withdrawn. BS6288 consists currently of th

General 1 Scope This standard applies to the dimensional, mechanical and electrical requirements for non-perforated blank and pre-recorded mag

An explanation of the drawing system used in the different parts of this publication is to be found inAppendix A. 5 Scales for graphical presentation of data 5.1 General Linear or logarithmic scales are recommended for grap

39、hical presentation. Linear decibel scales are equivalent to logarithmic scales. Other kinds of scales, such as double logarithmic, shall be avoided. When using decibel scales, the zero reference should, if possible, be the rated value. In those cases, where each of the scales refers directly to phys

40、ical units, it is recommended to avoid a combination of linear and logarithmic scales. 1) Under revision.EN60094-1:1993 6 BSI 11-1999 Where quantities represented by abscissae and ordinates are of the same kind, it is recommended that the same unit length be used for both. Linear scales with remote

41、zero point should be avoided as far as possible. For further information see IEC Publication263: Scales and Sizes for Plotting Frequency Characteristics and Polar Diagrams. 5.2 Scales for frequency characteristics Graphs shall be drawn with frequency in hertz as abscissae on a logarithmic scale, and

42、 level in decibels as ordinates on a linear scale. The scale ratio shall be such that the length representing one decade of frequency is the same as the length representing25dB or50dB difference in level. The preferred length per decade is 50mm. If the size of the graph is changed, the scale ratio s

43、hould be left unaltered. 6 Mechanical and electrical matching requirements 6.1 For the connectors used, reference is made to IEC Publication 268-12:Part 12: Circular Connectors for Broadcast and Similar Use; and IECPublication268-11:1987 Part 11: Application of connectors for the interconnection of

44、sound system equipment. 6.2 For the preferred matching values, reference is made to IEC Publication 268-15-15: Preferred Matching Values for the Interconnection of Sound System Components. 7 High fidelity equipment and systems For minimum electrical requirements for high fidelity equipment and syste

45、ms reference is made to IEC Publication581-4: High Fidelity Audio Equipment and Systems: Minimum Performance Requirements. Part4: Magnetic Recording and Reproducing Equipment. 8 Flammability When applicable, magnetic tapes shall comply with the flammability regulations for motion picture film as lai

46、d down in ISO Standard543:1974, Cinematography Motion-picture Safety Film Definition, Testing and Marking. Section 2. Mechanical requirements 9 Tape dimensions The dimensions shall be as follows: 10 Tape speed The rated speed during reproduction shall be in a geometrical progression with the divisor

47、2 commencing at76,2cm/s (30 in/s). The speed and tolerances apply to machines operating from supplies having frequencies and voltages as specified by the manufacturer. Speed fluctuations requirement (wow and flutter) shall be measured in accordance with IEC386 and amendment No. 1. The rated tape spe
