、 DISTORTION TEST OF SAFETY GLASS FOR ROAD VEHICLES PAGE: 1/4 ISSUED DATE: 1995. 01. 06 REVISED DATE: 2008. 10. 21 VERSION: 4 GM DAEWOO Auto & Technology Note: This standard may be applied only for current project. It is Superceded for all future projects and replaced by GMW3136 1. PURPOSE This stand
、ard specifies to examine the condition of the optical distortion of the windscreen for road vehicles 2. SCOPE This standard applies to the safety glass(laminated glass with a high molecular film) for the front glass of automobiles 3. APPARATUS AND INSTRUNMENTS 3.1. Project Light source : 150250W hal
、ogen lamp Objective of focal length : min. 90mm Figure 1 3.2. Slide When the glass to be tested is not inserted, the inside shall be capable of obtaining the images as Figure 2. EDS-T-3515OPTICAL DISTORTION TEST OF SAFETY GLASS FOR ROAD VEHICLES PAGE: 2/4 ISSUED DATE: 1995. 01. 06 REVISED DATE: 2008
、. 10. 21 VERSION: 4 GM DAEWOO Auto & Technology R1+R2D = 4 R1 Where D : The diameter of circles projected on the screen. (mm) R1: The distance from the projector to the specimen R2 : The distance from the specimen to the screen. Figure 2 3.3. Screen The screen shall be white and flat. 3.4. Supportin
、g fixture The supporting fixture shall be capable of mounting a specimen at the rake angle of a real car. 3.5. Dark room The apparatus shall be set in a semi-dark or dark place to enable the tester to find easily the presence f optical distortion 4. TEST PIECE (SPECIMENS) Same with windshield glass
、product shall be furnished to the test. 5. PROCEDURE 5.1. Arrange the projector, supporting fixture of specimen and screen as shown in Figure 3. EDS-T-3515OPTICAL DISTORTION TEST OF SAFETY GLASS FOR ROAD VEHICLES PAGE: 3/4 ISSUED DATE: 1995. 01. 06 REVISED DATE: 2008. 10. 21 VERSION: 4 GM DAEWOO Aut
、o & Technology Figure 3 5.2. In the absence of the specimen, ascertain that the circular shaped part projected on the screen is 8mm in diameter. 5.3. Mount the specimen on the supporting fixture in the same condition as that on the vehicles. Figure 4 5.4. Rotating or moving the specimen horizontally
、 and moving it vertically so that the horizontal tangent line to the surface of the specimen at the measuring point G meets at right angles with the line joining the center of the projector and the point G, measure the max. value of the change in diameter of the circular image projected on the scree
、n in the whole of the test area A, B and I, or a and b. 5.5. From the measured max. value of the change in diameter of the projected image, calculated the max. Value of the change in angular deviation by the formula : d = 0.29R2 where : The change in angular deviation (min of arc), d : The change in
、 diameter of the projected image (mm), R2: The distance from the specimen to the screen (m) EDS-T-3515OPTICAL DISTORTION TEST OF SAFETY GLASS FOR ROAD VEHICLES PAGE: 4/4 ISSUED DATE: 1995. 01. 06 REVISED DATE: 2008. 10. 21 VERSION: 4 GM DAEWOO Auto & Technology 6. RESULT OF THE TEST Four specimens shall be tested, and all of they shall be satisfy the requirement. 1 : 8.02.3 2 : 8.0 6.9 ( n = 4, c = 0 ) Note) n : test no, c : not passed no 7.
