45、with great shock and grief, the deliberate and coordinated acts ofterrorism in the United States which have resulted in great destruction and the loss of thousands of lives. I am delighted and comforted to see so many of you here, for we meet at a critical moment in the evolution of civil aviation. The despicable acts ofterrorism perpetrated in the United S

49、tates on 1 1 September, which have resulted in such devastation and the loss of thousands of innocent lives, have shocked and saddened us. There is no place for such acts in our civilized society. I know I speak for the entire civil aviation community in strongly condemning not only those acts, but also the misuse of civil aircraft,
