The CCIIT (the International Telegraph and Telephone Consultative Committee) is a permanent organ of the ITU. Some 166 member countries, 68 telecom operat
3、ing entities, 163 scientific and industrial organizations and 39 international organizations participate in CC which is the body which sets world telecommunications standards (Recommendations). The approval of Recommendations by the members of CCITT is covered by the procedure laid down in CCITT Res
4、olution No. 2 (Melbourne, 1988). In addition, the Plenary Assembly of CCIIT, which meets every four years, approves Recommendations submitted to it and establishes the study programme for the following period. In some areas of information technology which fali within CCIT” s purview, the necessary s
5、tandards are prepared on a collaborative basis with IS0 and IEC. The text of CCIT Recommendation X.735 was approved on 10th of September 1992. 18、 in a centraiized or decentraiized management environment to interact for the purpose of systems management, as defined by CCITT Rec. X.700 I IS/IEC 7498-4. This CCT Recommendation I International Standard defines the Log Control function and consists of services and two functional units. This funct
19、ion is positioned in the application layer of the CCITT Rec. X.200 I ISO/IEC 7498-1 and is defined according to the model provided by ISO/IEC 9545. The role of systems management functions is described by CCITT Rec. X.701 I ISO/IEC 10040. This CC Recommendation I Intemationa Standard - - - establish

46、gement functions it is necessary to be able to preserve information about events that may bave occurred or operations that may bave been performed by or on various objects. In a real open system various resources may be allocated to store such information. In OS1 management these resources are model
47、ed by logs and log records contained in the logs. The management needs for the type of information that is to be logged may change from time to time. Furthermore, when such information is retrieved hm a log the manager must be able to determine whether any mrds were lost or whether the characteristi
