2、ons (MPAPS) NUMBER: MPAPS F-6050 Former Designation: TMS-6050 TITLE: CNG Vent Lines and Fuel Hoses with End Fittings editorial changes. 1.0 APPLICATION This specification covers the types of hose, with end-fittings, and tube assemblies used in the vehicle compressed natural gas (CNG) fuel system. 2.

3、0 SCOPE This specification covers general requirements, property and performance requirements, identification, quality, packing and shipping and source approval and quality control requirements. 2.1 Restricted Chemical Substances Effective January 1, 2007, all product supplied to the requirements of

4、 this specification must comply with the requirements of the MPAPS B-50 specification. 3.0 REFERENCE DOCUMENTS Unless otherwise specified, the latest issue of all referenced standards shall apply. All hose assemblies shall meet the requirements of NFPA 52 a

7、nd ANSI/IAS NGV 4.2-1999 / CSA 12.52-M99. 2. Low pressure fuel lines (hose assembly or tube assembly) are any fuel line downstream of the high pressure regulator. NUMBER: MPAPS F-6050 TITLE: CNG Vent Lines and Fuel Hoses with End Fittings Passivated per MPAPS A-37, Type 5. Aluminum Only for aluminum

8、 tubing: 6061-T6 aluminum per MPAPS C-10 4.2 Fuel Line Tubing Material 4.2.1 Low Pressure 4.2.1.1 Steel - Steel tubing will be single-wall, electric-resistance welded (ERW) low carbon steel per CEMS A-45 Part II with flash height controlled to 380 m (0.015 inch) max. 4.2.1.2 Tubing Finish unless oth

9、erwise specified, steel tubing will have one of the following finishes and meet the performance requirements as specified in the applicable specification: a) Zinc plating (trivalent), Class 6A, per MPAPS G-20 b) Paint, Class II, per MPAPS G-9009 c) Hot-dipped zinc-aluminum coating (95% zinc, 5% alum

10、inum) (Galfan) (Must provide ASTM B117 salt spray performance of 360 hrs to red rust, with no more than 1% red rust per ASTM D610, Plate #6) d) Zinc-nickel plating (trivalent), Class ZNi-C3, per MPAPS G-22 4.2.1.3 Aluminum 3003-H14 or 6061-T6 aluminum per MPAPS C-10. Aluminum tubing will be seamless

11、 and plain (no finish). 4.2.1.4 Copper - Copper tubing shall not be used as a fuel line on a vehicle as per CSA B109. 4.2.1.5 Stainless Steel Seamless 304, 304L, 316 or 316L per ASTM A269 or ASTM A213/A213M 4.2.2 High Pressure 4.2.2.1 High-pressure or vent stainless steel tubing shall meet the requi

12、rements of ASTM A 269 or A 213/A 213M tubing providing an equivalent level of safety. Tubing shall be seamless 304, 304L, 316, or 316L, and capable of minimum 3600 psi working pressure. 4.3 Vent Line Tubing and Hose All vent line tubing and hose must be capable of: i. Minimum burst pressure of 1.5 t

13、imes maximum vent pressure or 5400 psi. ii. Maintaining gas carrying capability after being exposed to 1120C for 20 minutes. 4.4 Performance Requirements All low and high pressure hose assemblies must meet the performance and test requirements of ANSI/IAS NGV 4.2-1999 / CSA 12.52-M99 NUMBER: MPAPS F

14、-6050 TITLE: CNG Vent Lines and Fuel Hoses with End Fittings no micro-inch finish is specified. 6.0 QUALIFICATION Engineering qualification of sources is required in advance of production shipments. Suppliers shall submit samples for approval of finish, luster, color and appearance to the Navistar I

15、ndustrial Design Group. Samples shall be accompanied by test data certifying that all requirements of the specification have been met. Upon approval, styling master samples denoting the minimum level of acceptable appearance quality shall be developed and retained by the supplier and the quality dep

16、artment of each using NAVISTAR facility. 6.1 Quality Control Plan A Quality Control Plan for products supplied to the requirements of this specification will be established by mutual agreement between NAVISTAR and the supplier. Unless specific exception is noted, the following characteristics, where

17、 applicable*, shall be included in the plan as features for management by statistical process control. * 1.HOSE ASSEMBLIES: OVERALL LENGTH 2.FITTING RELATIVE ANGLES 3.COORDINATE CHART FOR TUBE BENDS * Other characteristics for inclusion in the control plan may be specified on the engineering drawing

18、 and/or purchase order. * See NAVISTAR Engineering Design Standard A-16 6.2 Fuel Hose and Tube Assembly Cleanliness: Hose and Tube assemblies shall follow MPAPS F-2 Level II for cleanliness. Tube assemblies shall be free from grease, scale, chips, carbon or any other contaminant which cannot be remo

19、ved by normal cleaning. 6.3 Workmanship: The OD in the area of any bend shall not be less than 85% of the nominal tubing OD (15% max flatness). The wall thickness of the tubing after bending shall be greater than 70% of the original dimension. The walls of the tubing (interior and exterior) in the a

20、rea of the bend shall not contain surface defects which exceed 0.25 mm (0.010 in) in depth. All hose and tube assemblies shall be shipped with protective caps on each fitting. 7.0 SOURCE APPROVAL AND QUALITY CONTROL 7.1 Supplier Requirements All suppliers to NAVISTAR are required to be registered to

21、 ISO 9001 Quality System Requirements. 23、 certification with an accredited registrar and must furnish copies of registration certificates to their Corporate Buyer upon request. 7.2 Approval Parts supplied against contracts or purchase orders citing this specification shall be equivalent in all respects to those samples which were approved

24、by the purchaser. No changes in formulation or processing practices are permitted without approval. In the event that changes in material, properties, processing practices, construction, color, or labeling of the product are required, the supplier shall notify NAVISTAR Materials Engineering and Purc

25、hasing and Supplier Development of the proposed change(s). Test data indicating conformance to all requirements of this specification, test samples, and new or amended or updated Material Safety Data Sheet(s) (MSDS), in accordance with CFR Title 29, Part 1910 shall be submitted with the request for

26、change. 7.3 Process Control The supplier shall either perform and report results of tests on specific lots of parts produced using ISO 9001 or TS-16949 guidelines, or provide statistical evidence of the lot having been produced in a state of statistical control and with a process capable of providin

27、g all required properties. The part supplier and the quality control manager of the using NAVISTAR plant may determine testing and reporting requirements on specific products. 8.0 SHIPPING AND HANDLING Shipping and identification shall be in accordance with NAVISTAR Manufacturing Standard MS-D-13. P

28、arts shall be packaged so as to avoid any damage in shipment detrimental to the appearance of the part. 8.1 Identification 8.1.1 Tube Identification Each hose or tube assembly shall be permanently identified in a clear and legible manner with the following minimum information: (a) Part Number - The

29、complete NAVISTAR part number. (b) Vendor Code - A four- or five-digit code assigned by NAVISTAR to each vendor. Contact Navistar Corporate Technical Standards for assignment of codes. (c) Size - Nominal size, i.e., diameter in fractions of an inch or “dash“ sizes, as required. (d) Date Code - The s

30、ix-digit date code, with first two digits (01-12) representing the month, second two digits (01-31) representing the day, and last two digits (99) representing the year, is the preferred method for date codes. Other date code methods may be used if agreed between purchaser and supplier. (e) Regulato

31、ry - All labels (marking) must comply with the labeling and marking Label requirements specified in NFPA 52 and the ANSI/IAS NGV Requirements 4.2-1999/CSA 12.52-M99. (f) Informational or safety related tags or labels that are easily removed may be added to the hose or tube assemblies NUMBER: MPAPS F
