REPORTS: *
19、 *Required *Optional SUBJECT: The subject is the exact thing that is the focus of the test (usually a specific part or assembly) and a short, general description of what is to be done to it and why. It is initially completed by the requestor. ALWAYS review the subject to ensure that it reflects the
20、following: Part, assembly, coating system, etc. being tested Application (Functional system and Vehicle model) Type of test (mechanical, physical, chemical, etc.) and validation/verification activity it supports (DVP, PPAP, 8-D, etc) If the report is specific to 1 part number (PN), include the PN in
21、 the subject. OBJECT: This section is a brief statement of the objectives expected to be achieved as a result of performance of the test/analysis. The object is initially completed by the requestor. ALWAYS review the object to ensure that it reflects the following: It is a statement of what is expec

Avoid vague, open-ended statements like “Determine Root Cause of Failure” or “Must meet ASTM B-117”. Test methods

Substantive changes to the object need to be agreed upon with the Requestor and/or Vehicle Engineering Manager as applicable. CONCLUSIONS: This section provides clear a
26、nd concise statement(s) of the conclusion(s) reached based on the test or analysis results. The conclusions must be responsive to all of the listed objectives of the test. The conclusions must be supported by information contained in the results section and should not contain conjecture. Keep conclu

Where two or more conclusions are reported, they shall be sequentially numbered. Conclusions ARE NOT a restatement of the results and often will not contain numerical data. RECOMM
28、ENDATIONS: The section should include concise, specific, actionable suggestions or proposals evolving from failure analysis, and when the stated objective in other types of reports was not met. They should be specific in identifying what needs to be changed and the extent of the change proposed. Whe

List any remarks which help the reader understand the report, but do not belong in other sections. Points to consider include: Altering the section

MATERIALS/PART#s/TEST VEHICLES/TEST ENGINES: This section provides a clear description of the material, part, or component being tested or analyzed. Alter the section heading to reflect the content. When applicable, this section includes a descripti

When the tests involve a Navistar manufactured, fabricated, or designed part, a description of the part, the part number, including revision level and any modifications, the installation drawing number, including revision level and any modifications, and the quantity of part

If part or installation drawings do not exist, a drawing or sketch of the part/installation may be included in the report. When the test involves a material instead of a part, a complete description of the

When the test involves a vehicle(s), the vehicle should be identified by its VIN number and the vehicles lineset ticket shall be included as a table in the report. Relevant vehicle information such as model number, axle ratings, axle test
37、 weights, engine type, etc., should be noted. TEST EQUIPMENT / INSTRUMENTATION: The information in this section will vary based on the type of report being written. For validation work (and other types as required), it should include: Equipment necessary to set up or to perform the test shall be ide

When load application devices such as air cylinders, hydraulic actuators, dead weights, etc., are used, the type of applicator and its load capacity or range should be noted and information on ac
39、curacy, bias, and calibration dates must be reported. METHOD: This section should include the standards that contain the test methods (as opposed to performance requirements) used during the investigation to directly answer questions posed in the OBJECT. If testing was performed in support of other
40、activities, the methods may be omitted. List the standards body, standard number, and standard title of all MPAPS, TMS, CEMS, ASTM, SAE, or other applicable specifications in tabular form.
