5、pecification covers unfilled acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) thermoplastic material suitable for making finished parts by injection molding, extrusion, vacuum forming, or other molding process. Parts such as grilles, engine covers, kick panels and light fixtures are typical applications. 2.0 S
6、COPE This specification covers the requirements for basic material properties (cell limits), molded part properties (suffixes), quality, source approval and quality control. 2.1 Restricted Chemical Substances Effective January 1, 2007, all product supplied to the requirements of this specification m
7、ust comply with the requirements of the CEMS B-50 specification. 3.0 REFERENCE DOCUMENTS Unless otherwise specified, the latest issue of all referenced standards shall apply. The following suffixes shall be used to indicate additional required properties: 4.1.2.1 Accelerated Weathering - Per CEMS GT-31 C1: I

16、s 4.1.2.2.1 Suffix D1: Pigmented part color shall be specified on the drawing per designation system in CEMS G-5, Part I, Section B. The pigment shall be evenly dispersed to insure uniform coloring throughout the part. 4.1.2.2.2 Suffix D2: Paint color shall be specified on the drawing per designatio
17、n system in CEMS G-5, Part I, Section B. The painted part shall meet requirements of TMS-7030. 4.1.2.3 Suffix E - Surface Finish Requirements shall be noted as follows, and shall compare to finishes found in the SPI-SPE mold finish comparison kit (D-M-E Corporation). 4.1.2.3.1 Suffix E1: No. 1 - 800

20、nterior Materials. 4.1 2.5 Suffix G - Electroplating Material shall permit chrome plating of the surface; the plated part shall meet requirements of TMS-7051. 4.1.2.6 Suffix H - Impact Requirements at Low Temperature Material shall exhibit a minimum impact of 0.13 J/mm (2.5 ftlbf/in) of notch at -40
21、C (-40F) when tested according to ASTM D 256 with a 12.7 mm x 12.7 mm (0.5 x 0.5 in) bar. 4.1.2.7 Suffix Z - Special Requirements Special requirements shall be designated by the Z suffix and noted on the drawing. 5.0 QUALITY Pattern, color, and finish must match approved prototype parts in the Truck
22、 Development and Technology Center (TDTC) Industrial Design Department. No voids in the material, surface defects, flash, or flow patterns are permissible. 6.0 SOURCE APPROVAL AND QUALITY CONTROL 6.1 Supplier Requirements All suppliers to Navistar are required to be registered to ISO 9001 Quality Sy
23、stem Requirements. Navistar will also accept TS-16949 registration as long as the supplier can also fulfill all AIAG PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) documentation and approval requirements. 25、f registration certificates to their Navistar Corporate Buyer upon request. 6.2 Approval Parts supplied against contracts or purchase orders citing this specification shall be equivalent in all respects to those samples which were approved by the purchaser. No changes in formulation or processing pr
26、actices are permitted without approval. In the event that changes in material, properties, processing practices, construction, color, or labeling of the product are required, the supplier shall notify Materials Engineering, TDTC, and Purchasing and Supplier Development of the proposed change(s). Tes
27、t data indicating conformance to all requirements of this specification, test samples, and new or amended or updated Material Safety Data Sheet(s) (MSDS), in accordance with CFR Title 29, Part 1910 shall be submitted with the request for change. 6.3 Process Control The supplier shall either perform
28、and/or report results of tests on specific lots of parts produced using ISO 9001 or TS-16949 guidelines, or provide statistical evidence of the lot having been produced in a state of statistical control and with a process capable of providing all required properties. The part supplier and the plant
29、metallurgist and/or the quality control manager of the using plant may determine testing and reporting requirements on specific products. 7.0 SHIPPING, PACKING AND IDENTIFICATION Loading, packing, and identification shall be in accordance with Manufacturing Std. MS-D-13. 8.0 DESIGNATION ON DRAWINGS
30、The material shall be designated in the same manner as the following example: 4-5-4 C2, D2, TMS-7000 D2 - Color shall be NAV 2284 Red 8.1 The three digits preceding the TMS number refer to cell limits in the table. The first digit always refers to tensile yield strength, here 41.3 MPa (6 000 psi). T
31、he second digit refers to the impact strength, here 0.26 J/mm (6 ftlbf/in) of notch. The third digit refers to the deflection temperature, 93C (200F). 8.2 A number of existing parts now specify the obsolete AM-83276 or AM-93300 designation for the specific ABS material.
