7、rocuring activity or as directed by the contracting officer.) 3. REQUIREMENW 3.1 Detail requirements for applic;ition. Detail requirements applioable to spark plugs for particular AirfTame-engine combinations shall be as specified in the detail specifica- tions listed in Supplement 1 to this specifi
8、- cation. In the event of any conflict between requirements of Ithis specification and the detail specifications, the latter shall govern. 3.2 Qualification. Spark plugs furnished under this specifioation shall be a product which has been tested and has passed the qualification tests specified in 4.
9、3, and has been listed on or approved for listing on the applicable Qualified Products List (see 6.3). 3.3 Materials. Materials shall be suitable for the purpose intended. 3.4 Design and construction. Spark plugs shall conform to figure 1 or 2, m applicable. Spark plugs shall be so designed that cle
10、an- ing can be accmplished without disassembly, using conventional ;types of aircraft spark plug cleaners, methods, and praotices, and that resetting of the gaps can be accom- plished with a gap-setting tool acceptable to the procuring aotivity. Spark plugs shall be so constructed as to withstand th
11、e normal strains, jars, vibrations, and euch other con- ditions as are incident to shipping, storage, installation, and service usage without failure. 3.4.1 Spa?*k gap. Only one no.mina1 gap setting with specified limits shall be per- mitted for each part number. 3.4.2 Gasket. Each spark plug shall
12、be fur- nished with a gasket in iaccoi:dance with Standard AN4027. 3.5 Performance. Spark plugs shall operate satisfactorily when subjected to the perfor- ance tests speci:ed in 4.7 and 4.8. 3.6 Identificatim of product. The following information shall be permanently and legibly marked on the exteri
13、or surface of each spark plug : Manufacturers name or trademark, date of manufacture (month and year), spark plug pad number, and latest change letter. 3.7 Workmanship and finish. Spark plugs shall be clean and free from dirt and metal chips or other foreign matter, both external- ly and internally.
14、 There shall be no loose pai%, imperfect weldments, burrs, sharp edges, dents, cracks, or other defects or ir- regularities. 4. QUALJPY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Inspection responsibility. The supplier is responsible for the performance of all in- pection requirements as specified herein. Ex- cept as
