In the event of a conflict between the text of this specification and the references cited herein (except for associated detail specifications, specification sheets or MS
10、 standards), the text of this specification shall take precendence. Nothing in this specification, however, shall supersede applicable laws-and regulations unless a specific exemption has been obtained. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Material. Materials shall be in accordance with the applicable drawings, spec
11、ifications and standards. J i 3.2 Parts. All parts shall comply with applicable drawings, specifications and standards. 3.3 Recoil amplifier. The recoil amplifier shall comply with all requivd on drawing 9370142, all associated drawings, and with all requirements specified in the .applicable specifi
12、cations and standards. 3.4 Assembleability. The recoil amplifier and discriminator shall readily attach and detach from the M2 Machine gun. When attached, the recoil amplifier and discriminator shall be securely retained on the M2 Machine gun. 3.5 Functioninq. When assembled to the M2 Machine Gun, t
13、he recoil amplifier and discriminator shall cause the weapon to function properly. The M2 Machine Gun with attached recoil amplifier and discriminator shall maintain an average rate of fire of 450 to 600 shots per minute. malfunctions directly attributable to the recoil amplifier or discriminator. The recoil amplifier and wrench spanner shall be clearly marked in accordance with the applicable
15、drawing and the marking provisions of MIL-W-13855. 3.7 First article inspection. When specified in the contract or purchase order, a sample shall be subjected to a first article inspection in accordance with the technical provisions herein (see 4.3). 3.8 Workmanship. All parts and assemblies shall b
16、e . fabricated and assembled in a thorough, workmanlike manner. They shall be free of burrs, chips, sharp edges, cracks, surface defects, dirt, oil, grease, rust, corrosion products and other foreign matter. The cleaning method used shall not be injurious to any part nor shall the parts be contamina
17、ted by the cleaning agents. All required markings shall be neat and sharply defined. See MIL-W-13855. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection r
18、equirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Goverment reserves the righ
19、t to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. 4.1.1 Responsibility for compliance. All items must meet all requirements of sections 3 and 5. The inspection set forth i
20、n this specification shall become a part of the contractors overall inspection system or quality program. The absence of any inspection requirements in the specification shall not relieve the contractor of the responsibility of assuring that all products or supplies submitted to the Government for a
21、cceptance comply with all requirements of the contract. Sampling in quality conformance does not authorize submission of known defective material, either indicated or actual, nor does it commit the Government to acceptance of any defective material. 4.2 Classification of inspections. The contractor shall submit a first article as designated by the Contracting Officer for evaluation in accordance with the provisions of 4.3.2, The first article sample shall consist of the following items in sample quantities as indicated. First Article assemblies shall be subjected to all the examinations and tests specified in Table I, quality assurance provisions, and such other inspection as
25、necessary to determine compliance with contract requirements. 4.3,3 Rejection. If any assembly fails to comply with any of the applicable requirements, the First Article Sample shall be rejected. The government reserves the right to terminate its inspection upon any failure of an assembly in the sam

The term “inspection lot” is defined as a homogeneous collection of units of product from which a representative sample is drawn or which is inspected 100 percent to
29、 determine conformance with applicable requirements. Units of product selected for inspection shall represent only the inspection lot from which drawn and shall not be construed to represent any prior or subsequent quantities presented for inspection. Homogeneity shall be considered to exist provide
30、d the inspection lot has been produced by one manufacturer, in one unchanged process, using the same materials and methods, in accordance with the same drwings, same drawing revisions, same specifications and same specification revisions, and complies with the provisions for submission of product as
31、 specified in 6 MIL-STD-105. All material submitted for inspection in accordance with this specification shall comply with the homogeneity criteria specified herein, regardless of the type of inspection procedure which is being applied to determine conformance with requirements. Classification of De
32、fects and Test tables shall be performed on inspection lots as defined in 4.4.1 of this specification. Prior to these examinations, the parts and assemblies comprising the recoil amplifier shall have been inspected in accordance with the applicable Quality Assurance Provisions and MIL-W-63150. a., C
33、ritical defects. Unless otherwise specified, inspection 4.4.2 Examination. The examinations listed in the for critical defects shall be 100 percent. b. Major and minor defects. Examination for major and minor characteristics shall be performed in accordance with the classification of quality conform

36、. 4.5.1 Assembleability. The recoil amplifier and discriminator (right and left) shall readily attach to and detach from M2 Machine Gun. Wrench spanner (part 9370141) shall be used to tighten.gas cylinder to toggle block. 4.5.2 Functioninq test. The recoil amplifier shall be assembled to a M2 Machin
37、e Gun. Government standard .50 Caliber M858 ball plastic cartridges shall be used for the test. The M2 Machine Gun with attached recoil amplifier and discriminator shall be fired 50 rounds right side feed and 50 rounds left side feed. Each 50 round segment shall be fired 25 rounds spasmadic and 25 r
38、ounds continuous burst. The cyclic rate of fire for the 25 round continuous burst shall be recorded. !I 5. PACKAGING 5.1 Levels A and B. The recoil amplifier shall be packaged in accordance with packaging data sheet P9370142 and as specified in the contract. 5.2 Marking. Marking shall be in accordan
39、ce with the 5.3 Shippinq. When components from more than one lot are applicable packaging data sheet and as specified in the contract. shipped at one time, each lot shall be kept separate, and the division between lots clearly indicated to prevent mixing of the lots in transit. 6.
