Scope*1.1 This specification covers austenitic, stainless steel,needle tubing in

3、 hard-drawn tempers for industrial applica-tions.1.2 In general, needle tubing describes small-diameter tub-ing with outside diameters (ODs) in the range of 0.008 to 0.203in. (0.2 to 5.2 mm) with nominal wall thicknesses in the rangeof 0.002 to 0.015 in. (0.05 to 0.4 mm). Needle tubing gages arenorm

Ordering Information3.1 Orders for material in accordance with this specificationshould include the following, as required, to describe thematerial adequately:3.1.1 Quantity (feet, metres, or number of lengths),3.1.2 Gage or size (outside diameter and minimum wallthickness)

6、,3.1.3 Length (specific or random), and3.1.4 Test report required (see the section on certification inSpecification A 1016/A 1016M).4. Process4.1 An electric furnace or other similar primary meltingprocess with or without degassing or refining may be used.5. General Requirements5.1 Material furnishe

7、d in accordance with this specificationshall conform to the applicable requirements of the currentedition of Specification A 1016/A 1016M, unless otherwiseprovided herein.6. Manufacture6.1 Needle tubing shall be made by the seamless or weldedand drawn process and shall be furnished in the hard-drawn

8、temper condition.7. Heat Treatment7.1 Unless otherwise specified by the purchaser, no heattreatment is required.8. Chemical Composition8.1 Stainless steel, Type 304, UNS S30400, in accordancewith Table 1 shall be used.8.2 Heat AnalysisAn analysis of each heat of steel shallbe made by the manufacture

9、r from samples made during thepour. The chemical composition thus determined shall meet therequirements of Table 1.8.3 Product AnalysisAn analysis may be made by thepurchaser from finished tubing. The chemical composition thusdetermined shall meet the requirements of Table 1.1This specification is u

Mechanical Properties9.1 Tensile RequirementsThe tubing shall meet the tensileproperties specified in Table 2. Yield st

13、rength, elongation, andhardness tests are not required for needle tubing.9.2 Number of TestsTwo tension tests for each 5000 ft ofproduct per heat shall be performed.10.
