Scope1.1 This specification2covers rod of Ni-Cr-Fe-Mo-Cu al-loys (UNS N06007, N06975, N06985, N06030, and N08031)*as shown in Tables 1-3, for

3、use in general corrosive service.1.2 The following products are covered under this specifi-cation:1.2.1 Rods516 to34 in. (7.94 to 19.05 mm) excl in diameter,hot- or cold-finished, solution annealed and pickled or me-chanically descaled.1.2.2 Rods34 to 312 in. (19.05 to 88.9 mm) incl in diameter,hot-

4、 or cold-finished, solution annealed, ground or turned.1.3 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regardedas the standard.1.4 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns, if any, associated with its use. Terminology3.1 Definitions of Terms Specific to This Standard:3.1.1 rodmaterial of round solid section furnished

8、 instraight lengths.4. Ordering Information4.1 It is the responsibility of the purchaser to specify allrequirements that are necessary for material ordered under thisspecification. Examples of such requirements include, but arenot limited to the following:4.1.1 AlloyTable 1.4.1.2 DimensionsNominal d

Theshortest useable multiple length shall be specified (Table 4).4.1.3 Certification State if certification or a report of testresults is required (Section 16).4.1.4 Purchaser InspectionState which tests or inspec-tions are to be witnessed (Section 14).4.1.5 Samples for Product (

10、Check)AnalysisState whethersamples shall be furnished (10.2.2).5. Chemical Composition5.1 Heat Analysis The material shall conform to thecomposition limits specified in Table 1.5.2 Product (Check) AnalysisIf a product (check) analy-sis is made by the purchaser, the material shall conform to therequi

11、rements specified in Table 1 subject to the permissibletolerances in Specification B 880.6. Mechanical and Other Requirements6.1 The material shall conform to the requirements of Table2.7. Straightness7.1 The maximum curvature (depth of cord) shall notexceed 0.050 in. multiplied by the length in fee

Permissible Variations in Dimensions8.1 DiameterThe permissible variations from the speci-fied diameter and out-of-roundness shall be as prescribed inTable 3.8.2 Machining AllowancesWhen the surfaces of finishedmaterial are to be machined, the following allowances aresuggested for

16、normal machining operations:8.2.1 As-Finished Rounds (Annealed and Descaled)Fordiameters of516 to1116 in. (7.94 to 17.46 mm) incl, anallowance of116 in. (1.59 mm) on the diameter should be madefor finish machining.8.3 LengthThe permissible variations in length of finishedrods shall be as prescribed

17、in Table 4. Unless otherwisespecified, random mill lengths shall be furnished. Rods orderedto random or nominal lengths shall be furnished with eithercropped or saw-cut ends; material ordered to cut lengths shallbe furnished with square saw-cut or machined ends. Whererods are ordered in multiple len

18、gths, a14-in. 28、condition,smooth, commercially straight, and free of injurious imperfec-tions.10. Sampling10.1 Lots for Chemical Analysis and Mechanical Testing:10.1.1 A lot for chemical analysis shall consist of one heat.10.1.2 A lot of rod for mechanical testing shall be defined asthe material from one heat in th

29、e same condition and specifiedthickness.10.2 Sampling for Chemical Analysis:10.2.1 A representative sample shall be obtained from eachlot during pouring or subsequent processing.10.2.2 Product (check) analysis shall be wholly the respon-sibility of the purchaser and shall conform to the product(chec

30、k) analysis variations per Specification B 880.10.3 Sampling for Mechanical Testing:10.3.1 A representative sample shall be taken from each lotof finished material.11. Number of Tests and Retests11.1 Chemical AnalysisOne test per lot.11.2 Tension Tests One test per lot.11.3 RetestsIf the specimen us

31、ed in the mechanical test ofany lot fails to meet the specified requirements, two additionalspecimens shall be taken from different sample pieces andtested. The results of the tests on both of these specimens shallmeet the specified requirements.12. Specimen Preparation12.1 Tension test specimens sh

32、all be taken from materialafter final heat treatment and tested in the direction offabrication.12.2 Tension test specimens shall be any of the standard orsubsized specimens shown in Test Methods E 8.12.3 In the event of disagreement, the referee specimenshall be the largest possible round specimen s

33、hown in TestMethods E 8.13. Test Methods and Chemical Analysis13.1 The chemical composition and mechanical propertiesof the material as enumerated in this specification shall bedetermined, in case of disagreement, in accordance with thefollowing ASTM methods:13.1.1 Chemical AnalysisTest Methods E 14

34、73. For ele-ments not covered by Test Methods E 1473, the referee methodshall be as agreed upon between the manufacturer and pur-chaser. The composition of the remainder element shall bedetermined arithmetically by difference.13.1.2 Tension Test Test Methods E 8.13.1.3 Method of SamplingPractice E 5

35、5.13.1.4 Determining Significant PlacesPractice E 29.13.2 For purposes of determining compliance with thelimits in this specification, an observed value or a calculatedvalue shall be rounded in accordance with the rounding methodof Practice E 29:RequirementsRounded Unit for Observed or CalculatedVal

Inspection14.1 Inspection of the material shall be made as agreed uponby the manufacturer and the purc

37、haser as part of the purchasecontract.15. Rejection and Rehearing15.1 Material that fails to conform to the requirements ofthis specification may be rejected. Rejection should be reportedto the producer or supplier promptly and in writing. In case ofdissatisfaction with the results of the test, the

38、producer orsupplier may make claim for a rehearing.16. Certification16.1 When specified in the purchase order or contract, amanufacturers certification shall be furnished to the purchaserstating that material has been manufactured, tested, and in-spected in accordance with this specification, and th

39、at the testresults on representative samples meet specification require-ments. When specified in the purchase order or contract, areport of the test results shall be furnished.17. Product Marking17.1 Each piece of material12 in. (12.7 mm) and over indiameter shall be marked with this specification n

40、umber, nameof the material, and size of the product.17.2 Each bundle or shipping container shall be markedwith the name of the material; this specification number; alloy;the size; gross, tare and net weight; consignor and consigneeaddress; contract or other number; or such other information asmay be
