The center stop ring shallnot create an enlargement chamber or recess with a ledge, shoul

A gasket without an inside center stop shall be permittedin tubular transition applications.6.3 The elastomeric gasket shall be free from imperfectionsand porosity that affects its use and serviceability.7. Clamp Assembly Requirements7.1

20、 Stainless steel tension bands shall be tested to withstand125 % of the manufacturers installation torque or a minimumof 60 in.-lbf of applied torque, whichever is greater withoutvisible signs of failure. The band shall be tested over a steelmandrel of the appropriate coupling diameter and torque as

Coupling Requirements and Test Methods8.1 Assemble each coupling tested in accordance with themanufacturers instructions between two sections of randomlyselected pipe manufactured to appropriate standards for thetype of

22、 pipe the couplings are expected to join. The pipesection will not exceed a length of 20 ft (6.1 m). Conduct thefollowing tests:8.2 Deflection TestEach coupling tested shall be mountedbetween two pieces of pipe as provided in 8.1. The outboundends of the pipe shall be closed with test plugs. The ass

A test apparatus such as the one shown in Fig. 1 issuggested.8.3 Shear TestThe assembly shall be filled with water, allair expelled, and hydrostatically pressurized to 4.3 psi(29.6 kPa) for the duration of the test. Two

One length shall be supported on two blocks, one near the uncoupled end and the other immediately adjacentto the coupling. This length shall be firmly restrained inposition (refer to Fig. 2). The other c

The plain ends of thepipe are to be uncoated and shall be cleaned with acetone andthoroughly dried before each assembly.8.4.3 Fill the pipe assembly with wa
