The tightcontrol of ingredient ratios possible with preblended dry mortaris also covered.1.3 The text of this specification refers to notes and foot-notes, which provide explanatory material. Terminology3.1 For definition of terms used in

17、pecificationrequirements are specifically requested.6. Materials6.1 Materials shall conform to Specification C270 except asfollows:6.1.1 AdditivesShall comply with the admixture require-ments of Specification C1384, except as follows:6.1.1.1 The Specification C1384 reference mortar shall bethis mort
18、ar without the additives and the Specification C1384admixed mortar shall be this mortar with the additives.6.1.1.2 When more than one additive meeting the require-ments of Specification C1384 is used, the chloride limits ofSpecification C1384 shall apply to the sum of all of theseadditives.6.1.1.3 A
19、ir entraining materials shall comply with C260.6.1.1.4 Two air-entraining materials shall not be combinedin the mortar mix.6.1.2 Additives used as coloring pigments shall complywith the requirements of C979.7. Manufacture and Use7.1 All of the mortar mix materials shall be dry andmeasured by weight.
20、 The batch scales shall be calibrated atleast annually and shall be capable of consistently measuringeach ingredient to within 1 % of the total batch weight for eachingredient that is added at a rate of at least 20 % of total batchweight, and to within 5 % of the individual ingredients weightfor eac
21、h ingredient that is added at a rate of less than 20 % oftotal batch weight.7.2 Each ingredient shall be added within a tolerance of610 % of the individual ingredients target weight.7.3 The weight of each mortar mix ingredient of the finalbatch shall be recorded and archived for every batch.NOTE 1 T
22、his batch information is commonly referred to as a batchticket.7.4 A run number or batch number or some other markingused to ensure traceability of the batch shall be assigned toeach batch and retained as part of the batch archive.7.5 The batch information of 7.3 and 7.4 shall be archivedfor a minim
23、um of twelve months from date of manufacture.7.6 All of the dry mortar mix ingredients shall be thor-oughly blended.7.7 The preblended dry mortar mix shall be stored andcovered in such a manner as to prevent hardening, deteriora-tion, contamination, and segregation.7.8 Except for water, no mortar ma
24、terials, wet or dry, shallbe added to the mortar mix or the resulting masonry mortarafter the initial blending of the dry mortar materials in the batchplant unless otherwise specified and approved by the manufac-turer of the preblended mortar mix.8. Sampling8.1 For mortars produced to property speci
25、fications,samples for determining compliance with this specificationshall be sampled prior to the addition of water.8.2 Samples shall be of sufficient size to conduct all of thedesired testing.At a minimum, take three random samples of atleast 2.3 kg 5 lb each and combine them to form a singlesample
26、.8.2.1 For mortars sold in packages up to 45 kg 100 lb,select whole packages as necessary for required testing.8.2.1.1 Mix the entire contents of the package or packagesbefore selecting random samples in accordance with 8.2.8.3 Field samples taken from the original containers shall bemarked with the
27、 package markings as described in Section 14.The date of sampling shall also be included.8.3.1 Samples taken from job site silos shall be markedwith silo number or location and the sample date. If possible,the samples shall also be marked with the package markingsfrom the original containers.NOTE 2S
28、ilos are typically filled from large bulk bags or super sacks,these large bags will have the product identification markings fromSection 14 and may still be available on the job-site.8.3.2 Samples taken at the job site from a mobile batch plantshall be marked in accordance with Section 14.2.9. Testi
29、ng9.1 Testing shall be conducted in accordance with Specifi-cation C270 with the following exceptions:9.1.1 For mortar mixes meeting the proportion specifica-tions of C270, testing shall be performed by using verificationof ingredient proportions (batch tickets) archived from 7.3.Inaddition, the agg
30、regate shall be tested for compliance with therequirements of Specification C144.9.1.2 MixingMix 3000 6 3 g 6.61 6 0.01 lb ofpreblended dry mortar mix in accordance with Practice C305with the exception that the combined material is added at thetime of cement addition in Practice C305. Additional wat
31、ermay be added in the final mix period to adjust the flow.Determine the flow in accordance with Test Method C1437.Use sufficient water to produce a flow of 110 6 5%.9.1.3 Air ContentIf the mixture proportions and densitiesof all constituent materials are known, calculate the air contentin accordance

34、ce with Specification C270 initially and at least annually.9.2.1 Preblended dry mortar mix with additives shall com-ply with the property requirements of Specification C270 andthe admixture requirements of Specification C1384. Compli-ance shall be verified at the intervals required by SpecificationC
35、1384. The Specification C1384 reference mortar shall be thismortar without the additives and the Specification C1384admixed mortar shall be this mortar with the additives.9.3 If one or more of the mortar materials change in type orphysical characteristic or the proportions of the original batchchang
36、e, the resulting preblended dry mortar mix shall bere-tested for compliance with both this specification andSpecification C270.9.4 Uncontaminated preblended dry mortar mix sampled atthe job site, before the addition of water:9.4.1 If designed to, shall meet the property requirements ofSpecification
37、C270 and, if applicable, the requirements ofSpecification C1384, Table 1.9.4.2 If designed to meet the proportion requirements ofSpecification C270:9.4.2.1 Batch Ticket AvailableTesting shall be performedby using batch ticket verification of ingredient proportions.9.4.2.2 Batch Ticket Not AvailableT

Field Testing10.1 When field testing is required, the preblended drymortar mix shall be sampled in accordance with Section 8 andteste
39、d in accordance with Section 9.10.2 The performance values of an as-delivered preblendeddry mortar mix sampled at the job-site are directly comparableto the performance values of a preblended dry mortar mixsampled at the point of manufacture, because they can both betested in the laboratory using th
40、e same test method.10.3 The performance values of preblended mortars testedafter water is added in the field are not comparable to theperformance values obtained in the laboratory because the testmethods are different. Refer to Test Method C780 and GuideC1586 for guidance on proper ways of evaluatin
41、g mortars afterwater has been added in the field.11. Reporting11.1 A report containing both the results from the testing inSection 9 and the corresponding batch information fromSection 7 shall be archived for at least 12 months.12. Certification12.1 Certification to C270 Property Specifications:12.1
42、.1 Preblended dry mortar mix shall be tested for com-pliance with Specification C270 initially and at least annually.12.1.2 Preblended dry mortar mix with additives shallcomply with the property requirements of Specification C270and the admixture requirements of Specification C1384. Com-pliance shal
43、l be verified at the intervals required by Specifica-tion C1384. The Specification C1384 reference mortar shall bethis mortar without the additives and the Specification C1384admixed mortar shall be this mortar with the additives.12.1.3 If one or more of the mortar materials change in typeor physica
44、l characteristic or the proportions of the originalbatch change, the resulting preblended dry mortar mix shall bere-tested for compliance with both this specification andSpecification C270.12.2 Certification to C270 Proportion Specifications:12.2.1 Batch ticket and aggregate gradation informationsha
45、ll be provided upon request.12.2.2 Documentation shall show that the aggregate grada-tions comply with the gradation specifications of SpecificationC144.13. Delivery Ticket Information13.1 The manufacturer of the mortar shall furnish to thepurchaser a delivery ticket that shows the following informa
46、-tion:13.1.1 Serial number of ticket13.1.2 Truck or vehicle delivery number for unpackagedmortar.13.1.3 Name of purchaser.13.1.4 Specific designation of job name or location, or both.13.1.5 Mortar type.13.1.6 Quantity of mortar delivered.13.1.7 A location for the signature or initials of the purchas
47、-ers representative.13.1.8 Upon request, the manufacturer shall provide acertificate of compliance to this specification as well as acertified test report with confirming test data that has beencollected within 12 months of the date of manufacture of theproduct being shipped.13.1.9 Upon request, the
48、 manufacturer shall provide thedensity of the preblended dry mortar mix for purposes ofdetermining air content.14. Packaging14.1 All deliveries shall contain the name of preblended drymortar mix producer.14.2 All deliveries shall contain a lot number or run numberor some other marking to ensure its
49、traceability to the corre-sponding batch; see 7.4.14.3 All packages shall be identified with its weight.14.4 All packages shall identify the type of mortar beingdelivered, including if the product is made from mortar cement,hydraulic cement and lime, or masonry cement. The presenceof additives such as integral water repellents or color pigmentsor both shall also be clearly indicated on the package.15.
