8、Committee, is one of a series of standards for textiles of a quality suitable for aerospace purposes. During its preparation account has been taken of the fact that basic quality requirements are included in the latest edition of British Standard F 100. This standard specifies requirements for braid
9、ed cords manufactured from flat para-aramid yarn. The quality assurance authority referred to in this standard is as stated in the contract or order, or the accredited representative of the authority stated, as instructed by the prime contractor. A British Standard does not purport to include all th
10、e necessary provisions of a contract. Users of British Standards are responsible for their correct application. Specification 1 Scope This British Standard specifies requirements for braided para-aramid cords for aerospace purposes. NOTE. 16、plies together with any amendments. 3 General requirements In addition to the requirements specified in clauses 4 to 6 of this standard, the following sections and clauses of the latest edition of British Standard F 100 shall apply (see table 1). 4 Yarn 4.1 The cordage shall be manufactured from nat
17、ural colour continuous filament para-aramid yarn, which shall conform to table 2. 4.2 The base yarn shall be flat (no added twist). 4.3 The yarn shall conform to the properties given in table 2 to the satisfaction of the quality assurance authority when assessment is based on the yarn manufacturers
18、quality control procedures. 4.4 The nominal initial modulus specified in table 2 shall be determined from the gradient of the stress-strain curve at a load in the range 35 cN/tex to 40 cN/tex. 4.5 A spin finish shall be applied by the yarn manufacturer to assist braiding.2 BSI 1998 BS F 143 : 1993 I

Braid interlacing 5 Cords 5.1 Construction and properties 5.1.1 The cords shall be braided from the yarn constructions specified in table 3. 5.1.2 S twisted ends shall be braided in the Z direction and Z twisted ends shall be braided in the S direction. 5.1.3 W
26、hen tested in accordance with clause 3, the cords as supplied shall conform to table 3. 5.2 Finish The cords shall be supplied unscoured and undyed. 6 Identification The cords shall be identified, for ordering purposes, by the number and date of this British Standard i.e. BS F 143 : 1993 1) , togeth
27、er with the cord designation given in table 3.
